I have a Vox AC30 and a treble booster but there's no way I can come even close to Brian May's tone. No, I don't have a Red Special guitar, but I nonetheless would've imagined I could approximate his tone. The reality is that the tone is just too sparkly, not the creamy distortion he gets. Doesn't matter if I dime the Vox.

Help needed to choose humbuckers. I've got a les paul but years ago took some (I think) duff advice and had them waxed to cut some feeedback. Wish I hadn't, the brightness and harmonics disappeared. Since them and back to using the guitar and am trying to restore its vital juices. I've looked into the possibilty of reversing the process but everyone says 'don't go there' so it looks like plug-in replacements are the solution.

I swapped the C5 in the bridge of my Schecter C1 (mahogany body, maple cap, set mahogany neck, rosewood board) and I love it! Nice and sparkly without being too bright, nice mids, and the bass is tighter than I expected. Not quite as woofy down low as the C5 was in this guitar, and the mids cut more. This pickup is actually reminding me of the DiMarzio Fred I used to have in that spot, it's got a similar vocal quality but it's not as nasal. I think it's a keeper!

I recently saw magazine article where an old schooler was singing the praise of old albumns on a turntable. The suggestion is that the vinyl with a needle/stylus gives better dynamic sound profile than digital music. Even though there's bit a noise or hiss, to some audiophiles the digital sound doesn't reproduce the same a the old 33 1/3 rpm LPs.

Is there a need for a trembucker version of neck pickups, or is the regular spacing fine for the neck position on guitars w/ Floyd Rose trems? I'm thinking of getting the Alnico II Pro.

I have a vox ad30vt hybrid amp (12ax7 tube used as power amp), i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of tube it comes with stock and if there is a better sounding replacement tube? Thanks!

for nut width? A lot of manufacturers use decimals instead of fractions for nut width. I wanted to find out what nut width I prefer using, 1 5/8ths or 1 11/16ths based on the guitars I've owned or tried in the past. For example my parker nitefly is 1.68quot; I don't know what that ends up equaling in fractions. I suck at math.

Can anyone elaborate on the differences between the two and if the twin measures up to the Reverb model?
