I swapped the C5 in the bridge of my Schecter C1 (mahogany body, maple cap, set mahogany neck, rosewood board) and I love it! Nice and sparkly without being too bright, nice mids, and the bass is tighter than I expected. Not quite as woofy down low as the C5 was in this guitar, and the mids cut more. This pickup is actually reminding me of the DiMarzio Fred I used to have in that spot, it's got a similar vocal quality but it's not as nasal. I think it's a keeper!
I have a PGn coming later this week that might replace the Jazz that currently resides in the neck spot.
Nice Fret. I have a PG bridge sitting around that I may try in my Lester, while I'm waiting for my custom shop S Deco. I had a C5 in the bridge, which wasn't bad in the Lester at all, and now I have my UGD pup in there....basically and EVH. It's not bad, but lacks a little in the lows and is a tad to crisp on the highs.
You've just inspired me to try the PG.

Very cool....I'm obviously not a fan of the PGN,but I did like the PGB when I was using it....I have a Fred in my SG's bridge position and it's great...I also use the Scemon Demon in my black strat...The Fred is actually closer overall to a Scremon Demon....Both are around 10k and are A5,but the Fred has mismatched bobbins....Best of luck with your PG brother..
I liked the C5's lead voice a lot, it had a very throaty character and was really reactive to your pick attack, but I did notice it having problems cutting through mix at times in this guitar. I'm pretty sure the maple top is just a veneer, so it's pretty dark sounding with the mahogany body/neck.
The Fred got swapped out because the bass was just a tad too farty for me, but again I think that was just the guitar. A brighter wood is a great match, or even a more even sounding wood like basswood of course. I'm considering giving one a go in my impending black limba axe, but the CC gets first shot there.
FF...KILLER bro! I love the PG, both the neck and bridge! A buddy of mine describes the PGb as quot;trashyquot;, but I love it...I have a set in my Moderne, the only thing I would take them out for is a set of PG's with covers!

I've been playing a lot of jazz/fusion stuff lately, so I've been doing a lot of rolling back on the bridge's tone knob and the PG stays nice and clear. The attack is a lot clearer for legato runs too I've noticed.
