The Right Soldering Iron
40 watts! Holy crap. I finally got a 40-watt iron after always using 25-watts and soldering is so much easier and faster. I know this isn’t news to the many electronic experts on the forum, but to anyone else like me, get an iron that’s 40-watts!

what's wrong with my strat...very odd...
Ok so i just put in a brand new F spaced breed in my strat and look at the pole to string alignment...
i know it's f spaced b/c it was A) in a sealed box with a big F spaced sticker on it and B) it lines up with my f spaced tone zone i had sitting around. i don't get why the strings/poles don't line up.

My new JB SH-4 has NO sustain. How can I fix it?
I just purchased a JB SH-4 and installed it on my Ibanez 7-string. The tone and sound I get are outstanding. But, it has no sustain. The signal fades very quickly. Can anyone offer any advice? Is it the soldering job? Or is the pickup bad?

Roller Nuts
HE people I was wondering about those Fender LSR Roller nuts... what's so special about them (besides that they consist of those bearings)? I mean what do they do better?
The second thing is, that they need to be put in with screws... my current nut doesn't have screws.. is it a proble if I drive some into my neck?

Amp for sale
Hey,I am selling an amp if ne1 is interested. It's a Hughes and Kettner 50 watt edition silver solid state amp. This amp is in mint condition and has one of the best clean channels around. The distortion is awesome too and it has a real good blues feel to it. Plus its German made, so the quality is through the roof. Here are some pics of it anyway if ne1 is interested, looking to get $400 canadian for it.

Back to Duncans in the 6 String!
The EMG's weren't sounding as good as they do in my 7... so I decided to try a new neck pickup and go back to the tried and true Custom I loved before. Now I remember why I loved it so much! It records very very well, too!

Tell me what you think
These are semiprofessional recordings. I was playing through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, so it kind of sucks (I have a JCM 900 now). And yes, I know the vocals could be better, we're working on them . So check it out and tell me what you think.

Pickup for and Explorer
Lookin for a pickup for a Gibson Explorer '76 (2003), I'm thinking of just keeping the neck stock.
I'm not too interested in high gain, something with decent cleans, but mainly heavier distortion.

Which combo of speakers would best reproduce a Fender sound?
I have these speakers already so cost is not an issue. Or any other suggestions would be welcomed with open arms! The amp is a custom made 59 Bassman circuit inside a tweed 2-12 cab. I'm having the original transformers replaced with Mercury's and the caps with Sozo's so it SHOULD sound great. Okay, here are the speakers I have already.

Whats the difference between CE-5 and CH-1?
I'm looking for a chorus pedal and had the opportunity to try the Boss CE-5 chorus emsemble and the CH-1 super chorus. I've tried both on my home rig and can't really tell or hear a difference.

Used PRS for $1,099. Good deal??
I'm assuming it is but I need help from the PRS experts here. I've never played one until today while at my local music store. Rosewood neck with dot inlays, 2 humbuckers (exposed coils. Stock?), volume, tone (with push/pull), 3-way selector switch, tremelo bridge and locking tuners. The body was'nt real thick which surprised me, color was kind of a dark blue over what appeared to be maple top, as the grain was running across the top. This guitar has definatley been played. Dings on the body as well as on the head, buckle-rash...a players guitar. Felt like it needed a slight truss rod adjustment due to a bit of fret buzz around the middle of the neck, but the frets themselves appeared to have little wear. It felt very sturdy and played like a dream come true. My God did it play!! I don't know if the neck is considered to be the fat-wide type, but it did feel just a bit wider than the neck on my Strat. Radius was a bit flatter too. I'm gonna think about it tonight because I don't like to jump at things that I don't know much about (like a PRS), especially when you're talking about an expensive purchase. As mentioned the store is asking $1,099 w/case. So, what's the jurys verdict?

Plexitone in Short Tune
My environmental studies class got canceled tonight, so I came home and made noise pollution
This time I had my amp on quot;1quot; (no attenuation). It was about the volume of a rock band with a tired drummer

Yet another PRS steal
Wow, I wish some CU22's or McCarty's would come up with these kinds of prices, this guitar appears to also be underpriced.
