I have these speakers already so cost is not an issue. Or any other suggestions would be welcomed with open arms! The amp is a custom made 59 Bassman circuit inside a tweed 2-12 cab. I'm having the original transformers replaced with Mercury's and the caps with Sozo's so it SHOULD sound great. Okay, here are the speakers I have already.
Two Vintage 30's, two G12H30's or one of each?
I already have a 4x12 with 2v's on the bottom and two g's on the top and it made my Crate Blue Voodoo sound like a completely different, and much higher quality amp than it's reputation. Don't know if they will do the same for a Fender though.
Thanks a lot ladies amp; germs.
I think either set will do the job for you.
So any combo you think would reproduce the Fender quot;bellquot; or quot;quackquot; for lack of a better term lol! I know they made any other gain or hi gain amp I use sound way better. Just wanted some opinions before I take out the 30million screws in this amp to get to the speakers. Well, I think you should use two of the same model, and I prefer G12s over the Vintage 30s, but yes, I think either set should work for you. The Vintage 30s will probably be a closer match to what Fender used to use in their older amps, but I don't think you'll notice a vast difference in tone.
Cool--thanks a lot Hellion
JBL, Jensen and Utah speakers were used in original amps.
It depended on the year and for the JBL's an option.
I use a mix of two speakers for a greater tone variation and love it.
get a set of weber speakers that are made after the jensens. they sound great with an amp like that

Yes that would be the Weber F150, similar to the C12n. Or get a vintage c12n. Another speaker that I really like for Fender bell tone is the JBL d120f. Regardless of the speaker, I recommend an open back cabinet.
GEEET one weber california, and a vintage 30...

on to the question though, i think you would like 2 of the Gh1230s, or the mix of both
Thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to start with the mix. I'll may as well not be lazy and just try all three variations. Finding the time to do all the switching and listening is the only problem. Thanks again!
