i'm planning to install a new pickup in one of my guitars tonight.

both pickups (humbuckers) will be wired to mini-toggles for coil splitting capability.

i want to wire it so that when i have both pickups on and split, hum cancelling will still be present.

now i need to know which coils need to be active on each pickup in order to achieve this (i.e. slug or pole).

if anyone can give me some advice, or even better, a schematic, that would rule.

You'll need to select the screw coil of one pickup and the slug coil of the other.

Another way to do it would be to wire the coil splitting switch to switch each humbucker from series (normal) to parallel instead of making it a single coil. That way each humbucker will sound like a single coil when you want that sound but each will remain humbucking. Wiring diagrams for that come with a new Duncan pickup or you can find them under Support on the main page. Lew

Benedetto's are made by . Look at the lower, left-hand corner. Wire it like that.

If thats not clear, ask. We'll get it.

hmmm....i think i'll probably just wire each one for a coil split as normal and just hope for the best.

yeah, i guess i'm just lazy. i was hoping there was a simpler way of doing it. oh well. thanks anyway guys.

It's not that hard, you basically have 3 quot;wiresquot; for each pickup.
1.Black
2.Red/White together
3.Green/Shield together

For one pickup, have the red/white pair connect to ground when the switch is pulled.
For the other, have the Red/White pair connect to the black when the switch is pulled.
Just like in the link Artie posted, the upper left switch (SPDT). One switch will only have the Black/Volume/R W connected and the other will only have the Ground/R W connected. (You'll put the ground on one switch and the black/volume on the other switch on the same quot;relativequot; lug so that you flip the each switch in the same direction to split)

Or am I completely missing something when it comes to pickups?
