Hey everybody.

I'm looking to upgrade my old Vox cab with some new speakers. I play everything from clean funk and country styles all the way up to newer rock (not Nu rock or metal, plenty of mids ). I normally play through either a wound up BF Bassman Export Amp or a Mesa/Boogie V-Twin with a 60 watt EL34 based power amp.

Feel free to make suggestions.

Bump.

Benji....Is your cab open or closed back?

Mine has 2 Vin 30's, but I'm about to sell 1 to make way for a G12H30, which seems like a very popular 2-12 configuration nowadays.
Maybe you can buy 1 of mine? It's coming out of a fairly new Bogner 2-12.

Cool....The mixing of speakers is very popular these days....One amp I had for a short while was open backed and had 1 V30 and 1 Jensen speaker..It was a Tophat Class A combo now that I remember...

V30s do well in open back cabinets but they aren't a really good speaker for the clean stuff..The V30/Jensen concept works..

The V30/G12H 30 sounds like a plan also...Just seems that the Celestions are for rockin and the Jensens, some Webers, etc do the clean thing better....

Far as I'm concerned there's only two for me:

1: Celestion Vintage 30 amp; 1: G12H30 combined
2: Celestion G12 Alnico Blues.

I'm also a huge fan of the Celestion V30/G12H30 combo. Simply magnificent.

Thanks for the replies, gents. It's an open back cab.

BTW, GJ, how much do you want for that Celestion, and what ohmage is it (I need 8ohms).
