Anybody use a Phat Cat in the bridge position?..... i really like the CC in my Les Paul for gain and overdrive, but its not good enough for clean, which is what i primarily the sound i play with. Its a little undefined with too much mids and not enough clarity all around

i really like the chimey clean sound Pete Townshend achieved with his SG with P90s.....i know a Phat Cat in a Les Paul will not nail that sound, but i think it will help give me a better clean tone overall, with better clarity and less compression than the CC has, and i'm not sure i really want a lower output humbucker as i didn't really care for the 59 bridge i tried in this guitar in the first place

any thoughts?

Sounds good to me. It may not have the grunt and thickness when playing heavy stuff, but for more reserved OD and clean stuff, it'd be sweet!

I used a pair in my Epi Sheraton and I'm using them now in my Emperor and they're great clean and driven. They really let the sound of the wood come through the amp and cut through very well for leads.

cool, how bright will it be?

How bright is it? Let me just tell you that the Emperor can cover the country tunes I used to do with my Jerry Donahue loaded ash tele.

It actually sounds like a Gretsch, but with more growl amp; spit.
