I've got a great old white 84' Flying V thats a little on the dark side with the stock pickup. I'll be playing 70's, 80's and a little early 90's rock/metal and the guitar could use some punch. I'm thinking of throwing a Screamin Demon in there. I've also thought of going for another EVH, (I guess it's called a 78' now)
I've got 2 of those already and i love the way they sound. The thing is those pickups sound great in quot;brightquot; guitars but will they sound great in something darker? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes i did some searching on the subject and got some ideas.Im looking for that throaty, gurrgle tone like on the song Burn and in Rainbow with Dio.Of course theres the modded Major,booster,tape delay ect.But if you had one pickup to get ya close,what would it be?Right now I have a set of Texas Hots,which im growing to like more and more,but they dont quite do it.Thanks for any input!Jason

I have recently acquired a Squire Stratocaster quot;Bullet Seriesquot;. It was a gift amp; actually doesn't sound too bad amp; plays very well. I know it isn't the good old American Fender but I would like to do a little mod on it to get it up to the standards of my Ibanez Artist. I modded it with (2) Duncan Custom Customs years ago amp; it gives me almost anything I ask for. The Squire I am looking at putting a SSL-1 Vintage in the bridge amp; a STK-S2 Hot in the neck. My question is, what would your reccomendations be for the quot;Middlequot; selection or just leave it alone?? When I listened to the Sound clips on the website here they gave me the sound closest that I am looking for...Thanx for any input....

I can play chords pretty well, but I'm having trouble going from one chord to another without it sounding obscure. Instead of a clean transition, it just sounds like I chop of one chord and then go into another. Any help would be nice. Thanks in advance

I was wondering about grounding. When you run the pickup wires, do you run all the wires to the 3-way switch, and ground there and then send a wire through to the pots, or where do you send the green and bare wires for ground? I'm wondering because me and my friend soldered and did the modification, but he said run them to the 3-way first, then out to the other parts from there. Do you guys do this, or only run the black wires from the pickups to that switch? Anyone got pictures? Thanks!

Epi stopped making them a few years back, just wondered if anybody had any thoughts.

I recently bought an Epiphone Sheraton II, and because the stock PUP's are crappy, I need some Duncans! I play everything from jazz to metal (not quite, but I try...), so I need some fairly traditional/slightly progressive sounding PUP's to cover those grounds. 59? JB? Jazz? Help!

For the price, it seems unbeatable...and if this Agile is anything like the other Agiles, and I hope it is, it should be a great guitar.

I've had a very pricey Celestion 15W Alnico Blue speaker waiting to join forces with a '53 Fender deluxe amp that I was having restored. The speakers are *very* deep, so we weren't sure if it would go. It was a tight fit, but it went ! I was told that it's OK to remove the magnet cover for those of you thinking of similar projects in smaller amps. Be ready to put down some cash for the speaker. It does sound truely awesome though, and it's worth every penny. Maybe I'll see if I can record a bite.

Ok I have a mex fender jazz bass with frets and i wanted to know if i could just have someone strip of the frets and would that give the same effect as a fretless?
