I've been wondering for quite some time now... What causes a guitar to be a lemon. I hear people talking about how every once in a while you can find an awesome sounding/playing Strat or Les Paul but once in a while a lemon can be found also. What exactly causes some guitars to be better than other ones of its same series or model? Can someone fill me in? Thanks in advance.

I never tried many and I'm wondering what they're like overal... A search would bring very little and either way a bit of a new thing wouldn't be bad.

Hi - i was wondering before putting on some new strings...how does it work with the gauge of the strings in relation to action height? If u were to put heavier strings can u go lower or higher w/out buzz?

Been looking at tuners in pedal forms and there are a few on the market. The most popular models are the Boss TU-2 and the KORG DT-10. Today i found a pedal i haven't heard of before, the Rocktron X-tune. It looks awsome and i like that there are two display's IIRC, one for which chord and one if it's flat/sharp and in tune.

i have an ibanez ah2 bridge pickup with short allan scews that is so dull sounding an epiphone pickup nick pickup with flat head screws and a blown unknown pickup with flat head screws that used to sound better than the ibanez. im willing to shave off extra space on the screws if i have to so my goal is to take the best parts from each pickup and make the hottest pickup with the available parts if anyone can give me helpful tips or links that could help me.

do you know if the lexicon mpx1 is able to switch channels on you amp when changing presets??????

I dropped my axe off on Friday to get my Jazz/JB combo put in. The tech called me today and said it was not straight forward to install them. He has to wait and consult with first. He said he tried about 10 different wiring options, but neither allowed proper function . I was referred to him from several quality musicians. Does this sound normal? My Strat has an S-1 switch with the stock humbucking Black Cobra/Sidewinder combo. Don't you just solder the wires on where they came off of???

i'm looking for a good distortion or overdrive pedal that doesnt cost too much. what experience does anyone have with the boss ds-1? i dont want a pedal that has that plastic digital sound. other pedals i'm looking at are the DOD 250 overdrive preamp and the digitech bad monkey, though i think the bad monkey may be a little too weak for my tastes. any input/other suggestions is helpful, thanks.

Other than a rubber mallet, is there an easier way to install string ferrules? I always feel like I'm going to crack the finish on the guitar or the ferrule.

I just got a Peavey Classic 50 head (no effects loop) and need a lead boost for my Les Paul. When playing my Wolfgang (very hot pickups) I just crank the guitar volume for leads, works great! But the Les Paul has much lower output pickups and if I don't have them on 10 the tone fades quickly... also there's not that much volume range with the Les Paul anyway.

I have a Gamp;L Legacy with creme pickups and pickguard. I want to get hot rails for the bridge position. Would the black or white version look best?

Hey guys im a lead guitarist and ive got a squier fat strat with a maple neck, rose wood fretboard, and agathis body that i have been supen up for a while and im wanting to know the best bridge pickup to put in. I play mostly metal anything from the searing solos of randy rhoads of ozzy to metallica and id like to know the best pickup for me. (no battery preferably)

Anyone know where I can find F-50 clips online? I googled and came up short. And I know at least one or two of you guys own one. I'd like to have a better idea of how it sounds.

Ok, this might seem like a stupid question but where is a good place to but SD's? I was looking at the AMS and they mention that the pickup i want (a 59 nickle covered neck) is non-returnable. I thought all SD's had a 21 day return policy?
