hey is musiciansfriend a good place to buy guitars or like equipment?

imo, no

however, i allways like to play the guitars before i buy them.....(i guess for pedals it isnt that bad)

i know but like alot of ppl say that u get like scratched and fingerprinted guitars and stuff.

I've had good experience buying from them. The tele I got was perfect. My LP Jr. had a bit of what looked like buckle rash on the back but that is probably Gibson's fault and not MF. I've bought pedals and misc. items from them and those have all been good experiences.

thanks for the advice

I buy a lot gear form them - but not guitars - I'm with xerxes: I like to play them first.

I just bought two SD pickups from them - and I think I may have gotten a bad deal on one of them.

Well, I'm on a personal crusade to never buy anything from Musicians Friend or Guitar Center since they're both the same company and have had too many problems with Guitar center between me and my buddy in the past. Special orders not coming in, but being told they're on the way for 4 months, Bass Bridges not being ordered, pushy salesmen who don't know what they're talking about. I'm going to avoid MusiciansEnemy, GuitarChopper, and HackmoneyCentral like the plague. Thats just my opinion.

You live in Detroit and can't find a music store that stocks something besides Fender?

Anyway, I've bought all my guitars from local stores.

I have to admit that I did buy one from Musicians Friend - I was getting a buzz on the low E, so I decided to change the strings - after tightening up the low E string I snapped the corner of the nut off. I assumed they would offer to send me a new nut or something, but they wanted the whole guitar back and refunded my money. They treated me right I guess - but then I didn't have a guitar. No choice but to go down to my local store and buy another guitar - yeah I'm a gearaholic.

I bought my Explorer from them, it had never been taken out of the factory box! It was fresh from the factory. I've been pleased with them.

I usually buy from local shops, too. If I had to order online, I'd go with a smaller company. A lot of times, they'll treat you much better.

And have you asked the Fender dealers about Jacksons? They're part of Fender, so they should be able to get some. Although, there may be different requirements for dealers. I don't know.

i live near detroit the city is called troy and there is only 1 music store in troy and they only sell fenders.

ussually if i want a jackson i go to guitar center but my guitar center carried the overseas ones only.

that is y i need to find good places to buy a jackson rr1

Give this place a look:

www.vwallguitars.com

thanks

they have a great return policy, which is good and bad. You sometimes get used gear at new prices. Then again, others have been noted as saying they use MF as a gear quot;rentalquot; shop. 45 days is a long time to quot;try outquot; a piece of gear.

I prefer music123.com myself. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I rarely buy anything without playing it first, but it's often cheaper to try at a store and buy online.
