I just replaced the saddles on my Kramer 450G. I had an old Tele bridge I forgot I had and switched out the tired rusty old saddles. These are really close to the original 450G saddles. I adjusted the hieghts (something I was never able to do before) and intonation (ha! after 27 years and with no truss rod the intonation is spot on. Hardly any adjustment needed. Gotta love aluminum necks.) and everthing was grand. I picked up the guitar today and a bunch of the saddle height adjustment screws moved. This is something I have never encountered before. Some of the height screws stick up a good 1/8quot;, I am going to grind them down. I figure it's probably my hand moving them when I palm mute, I just figured there would be more than enough tension on the saddles from the strings. I may not have noticed it because the aluminum expands with hand warmth and I have to retune a couple of times until the neck warms up. Anyone had trouble with Tele or Strat saddles moving on their own?
I find sometimes it has to do with either too little or too much spring tension on the saddle. This may result in the string unable to lie naturally or allowing the saddle to move with a bend.
You mean on the intonation screw? I used the original intonation screw, I just put new saddles on.
I've had good results with a little clear nail polish on all adjustment screws. Keeps em' in place, but you can still adjust them if need be.
Great idea, I never thought of that. I'll grind them down to a manageable level first and see if that works, my hand is getting cut to bits.
Yes, I have experienced saddle slippage on LesStrat

That's why I need to upgrade to Graphtec saddles and ditch the cheap Chinese stock saddles. Ah, but other G.A.S. has priority at the moment...
My saddles were fine in the beginning but they seem to be exhibiting more up/down movement than I'd like lately... I wanted to get some Ferraglides anyway so this'll be a good opportunity to.
