Ok, so I was playing my tele at a gig, and it accidentally got splashed with a decent amount of water. initially, I just wiped it and played on, but after a few minutes, I suddenly lost all my high end. Unfortunately, this was the one occasion I have decided to travel light and only take one guitar to a gig, so I had to struggle through by diming the treble and upping the volume on the amp.

I talked to my flatmate, who plays in a band that tours very extensively worldwide, and he said his bass cuts out through accumulated sweat buildup, but doesn't go 'dull' like I experienced. Apparently he rotates his main basses, 'resting' one to dry it out while he tours the other. He suggested opening up the pickguard, wiping stuff off, and leaving it to dry for as long as possible.

So I've done that, and now I await putting the thing back together.

Anyone got any idea how long I should leave it to dry? any stuff I can do to get it up and running soon? what about cleaning the bridge and hardware? water damage war stories?
