I scored a cheap washburn with three single coils. I want to have a hum canceling single coil at bridge. The obvious thing to do is to wait for the new stack plus. But I really like the sound sample of fast track 1 and the fact it's much louder than a standard single coil. so should I put a fast track1 at bridge and stack plus at mid and neck? will that work?

It is louder, but I suggest you try the cool rails instead. Cool rails sound more natural.
I have no idea about the stack plus. Never tried it.
The Fast Track 1 is one of my favorite 'buckers in a strat's bridge position. It's not a whole lot louder than, say, Fender's CS 62's, but it is thicker. It's stil bright enough to play country with, but you will lose some quack in the #4 position.

what's the difference between a stacked single coil design and a two-blade side by side design? i've been wondering this for a while.
here is where that question's coming from:
I was playing with my strat thru some distortion and overdrive pedals. of course it's hum cancelling only in #2 and #4 positions. and when I switch it to bridge only or neck only, besides the humming noise the tone is actually not very good. it has a scratchy feeling to the tone. so I started wondering when you use a good stacked single coil and play it thru some distortion does it sound like #2 and 4 with the smoothness or more edgy but without the noise.
I do know that two-blade pickups are quiet and full because two coils are in series.
could somebody comment on the tones of the up and coming stack plus with distortion?
Don't know about th Stack Plus, but in my experience, side by side single coil sized 'buckers are fatter and smoother than the stacks I've used and heard.
