Sadly I'm selling my Carvin. Lately I haven't been playing it, and I think it's because I don't really like the tone of koa. It sounds good, but it doesn't sound good for me personally. Custom Custom/Jazz, 2 volume, 2 tone, 2 series-split-parallel switches, 1 killswitch.
It's on le Bay, but if one of you wants to make me an offer I would end the auction early. If you're wondering why I didn't advertise it here first, it's because I've usually been able to get a better price for stuff on eBay than on forums.

PS: I know my description on eBay is in the viewpoint of an optimistic 12 year old on speed, you don't have to tell me
Pointy. ... Droool... Koa? Is it bright???
You had a guitar built from koa and you had it painted? What's wrong with you man! Koa isn't highly regarded as a tonewood, but it's really pretty. Usually the only reason people get koa is because of the aethstetics of it. If you ordered a solid painted instrument you should have gotten it built from mahogany or Alder, Ash. I ordered a solid color carvin and it's going to be mahogany neck and body. I hate the thought of koa being covered with paint. You could probably fetch more money for it if it were stripped down and refinished. But that in itself would cost you money.
okay rant over. Aside from that, very nice guitar and I hope it sells well.
also, you should list it at the forum. Someone will buy it
Well, I bought this on eBay, I didn't have it built. It was built in '89 I believe. I agree that anybody who covers Koa should get a good talkin' to. I just looked at the Carvin Museum forums and it looks like they already found it! I posted a reply, we'll see what happens.

Ah! Makes perfect sense now. I didn't think you'd be the type to cover up a nice piece of wood like that. Getting it used is perfectly acceptable. j/k.
I've noticed that some die hard Carvin guys go nuts over stuff on ebay.
Whats your reserve?
mmmm that is one hot looking axe
