I've been wondering for quite some time now... What causes a guitar to be a lemon. I hear people talking about how every once in a while you can find an awesome sounding/playing Strat or Les Paul but once in a while a lemon can be found also. What exactly causes some guitars to be better than other ones of its same series or model? Can someone fill me in? Thanks in advance.
better woods, better pups, tighter neck pockets, a whole bunch of things could be the reason.
^^^^ that's pretty much it. I never really consider the electronics, as they're always replaced.

all seriousness though, i think it's a lack of QC from the wood chosen to the build process, like i've mentioned in other posts; my next axe will be by a luthier who puts thought and care into his workmanship
