i have an ibanez ah2 bridge pickup with short allan scews that is so dull sounding an epiphone pickup nick pickup with flat head screws and a blown unknown pickup with flat head screws that used to sound better than the ibanez. im willing to shave off extra space on the screws if i have to so my goal is to take the best parts from each pickup and make the hottest pickup with the available parts if anyone can give me helpful tips or links that could help me.

the the inferior pickups and parts will be used as a refrigerator magnets

notes: the slugs cant be removed on ibanez and epiphone pickup
the ibanez allen screws are 9/16 inch from top to bottom and were as high as the slugs

the epiphone screws are 13/16 from top to bottom but 1/16 is the screws head

watever help can be given is appreciated thank you

even if you replace the slugs/poles on the ibanez pickup- its still going to be a dull pickup.

It's the way a pickup is wound that makes it hot or not.

i can switch the magnet from my old blown pickup if that magnet works or use the epiphone pickup wat screws would optimize my sound and wat size would help me get the most out of my tone

and can u use any wax to seal the pickups

did you read my other post?

yes i did read ur post i had more then 1 pickup to work with and i do know the magnets have to do somewhat with the sound. i made my pickup i used the 9/16quot; allan screws in the epiphone neck in the bridge.my old pickup was so dull that when i made my settings on my pod i must of compensated for its lack of tone so much so that the epiphone neck pickup in bridge was earsplitting
