Hi folks,
currently I am struggling with a link problem in MS Excel (2003, SP1): I
cannot add links that are longer than 256 characters.
In MS Word and MS PPT, I generally have the same problem, but in these two
applications there is a simple workaround. When I click on quot;Browse for
Filequot;, I can insert very long hyperlinks in the input field quot;File Namequot;. Two
clicks on quot;OKquot; and it works.
In MS Excel, this workaround is not applicable, the link gets truncated to
256 digits. Does anyone know an alternative way?
Best regards - Rainer
Have you tried the following:
when you browse for a file and the link is displayed in the 'Text to
displayquot; field at the top of the box - you should be able to delete as little
or as much of the text as you wish and a long hyperlink can be inserted but
with a small amount of text displayed.
