that character can be found by
=CODE(MID(A1,6,1)) in your example, where A1 contains quot;1029 · etcquot; -
(it's char(183). Then you can use LEFT(A8,FIND(CHAR(183),A8)-1)
if A8 has the text wanted.

gt; Would like to use a mid() to obtain all information in the text string (a
gt; cell) up to the space before the quot;·quot; in (1029 · Money Market Acccount)
gt;
gt; Therefore, in this case my formula would return quot;1029quot;
gt;
gt; In another case my text is (1029-25 · Money Market Acccount)
gt;
gt; In turn, my desired text would be quot;1029-25quot;
gt;
gt; What combination of Find() or Mid() or what ever do I use to do the task?
gt;
gt; Initially, I must ascertain how to obtain the chr() value of
gt; the quot;·quot; character? No?
