I am trying to do a spreadsheet which will show gains from a total in
one column and losses from the same total in another column. Please
help.

I will have a total in column C.
Column D and F will be labeled quot;gainsquot; and quot;lossesquot; respectively.
How do I make the quot;differencequot; from C1-C2 go into either the gain
column or the loss column?--
