I am downloading a page from an office program, it is formatted as a table.
When it copies (cut and paste) to excel some of the numbers come in as text.
In the never version it is easy to convert using the built in format
function. At home this works well as i need to link to another spreadsheet
which must have numbers. At work I cannot seem to get exel to convert or
recognize the cells as numbers...HELP PLease At work the pc is windows 98
sec edition. I am at wits end !!Windows 98 doesn't tell us the version of Excel, but do try the instructions
under quot;Data Isn't Recognized...quot;

If text number is in A1 then the formula =A1*1 should do the trick
