Hi All - Who can help with this? I removed a set of SM3 Mini Humbuckers from my Les Paul Special and fitted P90s. The SM3s were pro-fitted by a repair shop some years ago and fit straight into the P90 slot. The P90s and the Mini HBs screwed straight into a plate which was at the bottom of the pickup rout. I sold the SM3s on ebay and the buyer has asked how they fit - he is making a custom guitar around these pickups. Who can help with this query? I wonder if the metal plate came with the SDs or if that was a standard Gibson fitting - anyone know?

Lately I've noticed a couple different guitarists from different bands putting what looks like a sweatband (just looks like it) type thing around the nut, on like the tuner side. Tonight at a show I noticed when the guitarist was playing a longgg solo that the little cloth thing or whatever it is was pulled down past the nut on the fretboard. Is this to mute the other strings to get rid of excess noise (like open strings during sweeping, for example) ? Has this technique always been around? Do they actually sell them? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I've just never seen it before.

i have an original '65 fender super reverb amp. The original body for it has come apart and i was wonderin if it would be a good idea to build a seperate box for just the amp (like a head) and just buy cabinets to hook up to, or should i just build a whole new amp body for the whole thing. any suggestions would help thanks.
