What do you guys think about this guitar? ESP/LTD in general?

from : localhost/that impress me are:
JB/59 stock
Ervanna nut
and pretty much les paul specs.

So, can anyone tell me why a les paul would sound better? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious if I may be missing something. Are ESP or LTD guitars made sloppy? Poor woods? ect.

I'm wanting a good set neck, mahogany, dual humbucking guitar in the future and I figure I might as well start shopping early.

Mainly workmanship and wood.

If I were in the market for a guitar like that (I was a few months ago before I changed my mind), I would get one of these from : localhost/They're made by Gibson and this is basically designed to compete with the LTD, but it's considerably cheaper. They get great reviews, and if you sell the stock pickups (Gibson pickups) you can get Duncans, and install and Earvana nut for a lot less than the ESP.

great guitars if you can get a good one. I got about 5 bad ones of that exact model in a row until I decided to spend my money on something else. They are almost always out of stock too. They don't sound anything like a Les Paul either.

What was wrong with them?

So, Don't use FEDEX

hahahahah. FYI i just bought one (against the personnal advice of Xeromus, cant afford the cash on the eclipse man) and am totally loving it. its crazy man. traditional les paul shape with modern features. if you want a gibby LP, look somewhere else, this is a totally different axe. and it rocks!!

Ehm, WHAT does using FedEx have to do with ESP/LTD (actually LTD, ESP I´ve never seen a quot;badquot; one) not being capable of making an instrument whose materials AND Workmanship are on par for the pricetag??

ESP/Ltd. are very good guitars IMO. Both will do well, although the ESP's have better parts and finish. They don't sound lika a Les Paul, though!

I think the biggest dif between the 2 is ... the LTD's are not nearly as thick as a LP .. therefor they are wayyy lighter .. and have a comfy belly cut.

the ltd tends to have more mid-range and less low end LP thunder.

ltd has big ol frets and IMO seem geared toward the quot;metal guyquot; .. not to mention the EMGs

ltd finishes are extreamly thick .. .Im not too into the plastic wrap style finishes. but they look good play well and sound good as well.

the LTD line is right on par w/ schecters diamond series and pretty much all the korean made guitars coming out these days.

I like gibson LP's ... but that LTD is a cool hybrid .. and a useful tool.

My ESP Viper standrad is a real nice guitar. That's nothing near a LP like guitar it would rather be like a SG but the sound is thick, as thick as my LP but in a different way (maybe due to EMGs?). That's a pretty cool guitar that I would recommend easily if you're into some metal/hardcore stuffs. However I'm sure she could give great rock tone with a set of 59. Finish is nice too, not to mention the sperzel locking tuners.

Can we please get this straight?!

ESP guitars are great instruments. Wood and parts quality is very high, very low tolerences. They play great.

LTD are an embarassment to ESP. They are crappy guitars that don't play half as well as their ESP bretheren.

People that call their LTD guitars quot;ESPquot; or quot;ESP/LTDquot; are living in a fantasy world, trying to make them seem better than they are.

He's right. If you actually put the money down for a japanese ESP (and they are expensive) they are probably some of the best guitars made in the world.

LTDs are great for the price, but they are still the economy versions of the higher end ESP's.

One thing I thought was retarded about the EC-1000 is the 24 fret neck. You can't even get up there because the cutaway isn't deep enough. I have no idea why that model is 24 fret when the ec-400 and lower are 22 and so is the ESP Eclipse II.
