I've written another tune in less than 2 months but this one quot;feelsquot; a little different.
First of all, it seems less guitar driven than most of my songs even though the original idea believe or not came good ole Keefe Richards himself. I was watching an HBO concert (on video) of the Stones and when Mick took a break, Keith started this song-I think it was called, quot;True and Truequot; and he opens with this chord progression that moves from B/A to A Maj. It was fairly easy and very non- dramatic for Keth Richards. And then, he quot;singsquot; on this and it was remarkably good in a quot;Mark Knopfler-esqequot; type of style. So I borrow the two chords and start crafting my song........
....which now sounds a whole lot like a Luther Vandross ballad which is not a bad thing but just different for me. There is no quot;guitarquot; solo stuff to speak and the guitar is well understated (although I do like the sound of my Alnico Pro II RW/RP set chorused and in the 4th position on my Strat) but it just quot;feelsquot; good. In a market where a lot of my gigs are built around me playing guitar, I wonder if venturing out away from the guitar is the best thing?
Have a listen to the song, please and let me have your oppinion. Need some input on this one. Here's the link:quot;Twenty Years (Neva' Thought I'd C U Again)quot;
Thanks For The Listen
