This is the most gain i've ever heard in my life, it sounds like the speakers have lightning bolts shooting out of them, and the amp takes a large power plant to run it.You know, rob zombie, superbeast.I'd just like to know for the hell of it. I know their guitarist uses a full shredd.

strat gurus...body question...
ok, i just bought a strat body in pewter off ebay which was listed as a MIM body...i also paid a very low MIM price for it...but after looking at pics of it again and pics of other MIM bodies...i think i got a USA made body at a MIM price and the seller didn't know it. ok, first off the body is pewter and to my knowledge fender never made a pewter MIM strat asside from the powerhouse and this is not a powerhouse body obviously. also the screw spacing for the vintage trem he listed as 2-3/32 from center of the first screw to the center of the last...if i'm not mistaken MIM vintage trem bodies have a 2-1/8 mounting hole spacing. next up is the routing, this is routed H-S-H when all the MIM bodies i have seen are routed not quite HUM size in the neck-S-H. this also has only one extra routing hole below the main route when MIM bodies have 3 holes there. next up is the grounding screw inside the bridge pickup area...i've only seen this on USA made bodies, never a MIM. also it has a green circle sticker in the route which i have only seen on US bodies not MIM. finally it is stamped with a full date (sept 07 XXXX) in the neck pocket not just a serial number like the MIM bodies i have seen. am i correct in thinking this is a US made body or is it some sort of MIM reissue? either way i don't mind since i paid a MIM price for it and was happy to buy it! here it is, let me know what you guys think it is and what model strat it could have come from...

Amp makes ticking sounds while warming up
I just got my first tube amp, a 1972 Garnet Jammer combo. When I turn it on the something makes a ticking sound which kind of concerns me. I took the chassis out and turned it on to see if there was anything arcing, and there wasn't, so i assume the sound is coming from either a tube or the huge ancient solid state rectifier. The sound sometimes happens while I'm playing also, but only when the volume is all the way up. When it happens the sound cuts out for a split second. I don't think the tubes have ever been replaced, and if they have, it was probably at least 20 years ago. The preamp tubes are GE 12AX7s and 12AU7s made in Japan, so they're probably pretty old. The power tubes are 6l6s and arent labeled. There is no standby switch which i think may be causing my problem. The amp may have had a tube rectifier that was replaced by some kind of drop in replacement solid state rectifier, judging by the size of the thing. If you have any ideas about whats happening, feel free to throw them out there.

Marshall Valvestate
I found a Marshall VS100 going for $200, and another for $150. The cheaper one doesn't have a working reverb. I was wondering, how are these heads, and would it be worth the buy? Also, what would be a good tube to replace the stock one with? Thanks.

Crate Palomino V16
Just got back from Guitar Center where I played this amp as well as the V8 and a Blues Junior. This amp blew the other two out of the water. Very warm clean channel and more gain than I'll ever need. My complaints about the amp are that it's only 1 channel, the reverb is pretty sucky, and the cosmetics are kind of...

Hey dudes. I have a Reverend P-90 in a Creme SD Cover. It's the 8.5k bridge model. I'll accept trades for decent neck humbuckers or minihumbuckers. Thanks!
