well...time to get an amp..ive been playing through a little 15watt POS with no effects other than some quot; gain quot;..and while i do love it to death i really just need a bit of an upgrade!!

I have noticed in some of the photos board members post that some guitars are missing the trem cover. I remember Yngwie Malmsteen seemed to always have his removed.

This is a little riff I came up with that's kind of spacey in the middle parts. All the rhythms were recorded with a Gibson Les Paul Junior with P-90's. The spacey part and the lead fill were recorded with a Gibson Les Paul with the stock 500T/496R pickups. It's decent I reckon. I'm still not sure about the overall mix. I think it may be a little bass heavy, but that's cool. Enjoy!!

I plan to purchase a lot of effect-pedals a new guitar when I will visit New York in the near future. I looked at the prices at musiciansfriend.com and if I take those prices into consideration, the shopping in NY will cost me approx. 1361$. In my country, I will not have to pay import duty or value added tax if the value of what I purchase is lower than approx. 912 $... Therefore, my question is: How much may I expect to get in discount?

hi everyone. this is my first post but i have been lurking here for a long while. you guys are a wealth of great information! here's my question. about 10 years ago i bought a used peavy classic 50w VT series tube amp. my guitar teacher recommended it. i'm just trying to find some info about it out of curiosity. but when i do searches i only get back info on the classic series, not the classic VT series. my amp has 2 tubes (no idea what kind) and what looks like 2 10quot; (maybe 12quot;) speakers. it also comes with this cool pedalboard which allows you to to get a phaser effect along with some others. i have a picture on my webpage (url listed below) under the quot;gearquot; section. i was just wondering what year it was made, if anyone else played it before, what your thoughts were on it, what is with the quot;VTquot; designation, etc. i haven't used it much but am finding it sounds pretty good with my bass. so i have been experimenting with it lately. still don't use it much for electric guitar as the pod is more practical for a variety of reasons. but i have a feeling i will be messing with it on 6 string soon. thanks for the help!

Ran into a bad experience with a ebay seller. This guy through a hissy fit because I sent polite inquiry as to a delivery date of my Jerry Donahue pickups. I only wanted to know so that I could be there to pick it up...I live in a small town where the post office closes at 3:45 and the UPS comes at 3:00. I usually get home at 4:00. I have a floyd rose guitar. Iwnat to do drop-tuning on it. How do i achieve this without making the bridge go off center?

I have a 1 volume 1 tone guitar with two 4 conductor pickups. What wiring option would give me the best clean tone with only 1 push pull pot. I am very confused with the sound differences of parrallel, series, in phase, out of phase, inner coil, outer coil. Can someone please give me advice on how to wire the guitar. I would like my guitar to be wired so that both humbuckers are split and hum canciling when I pull up the push pull pot. What option is this.

How can i sett my amp and my pedal (a zoom 2020 and a boss superoverdrive) to get a nice distortion like lagwagon, nofx, ecc..

Please explain this to me so I finally understand it. Firstly Duncans schematics show vol and tone pots with a 500K pot and a .047 cap. No guitar I have ever owned, including American Jacksons that came with Duncans, have ever had the configuration in the schematics. Currently i have 3 American BC Riches with a 500k pot for each vol and a 250k pot for tone. Dual Vol Single tone on all three. I never turn my tone pot anywhere. Always stay up. So my question is if I were to change my tone pot to a 500K it would:

Just finished installing a new Alnico II in my son's Les Paul copy and WOW! That pickup kicks butt! I hate to admit it but I think I like it better than my SH-5 Custom. What a great Rock N Roll pickup! When they say a Slash sound they are dead on. It wasn't too hard to get a pretty decent Slash sound. Sounds a little more edgey and a bit briter than my Custom. I wonder which is more versatile? Also I wonder how it would sound with my 59 neck SH-1?
