i have an epi explorer for sale / trade, it is a limited edition in pewterits the one on the left (obviously) it has had the duncans in the picture replaced back to the stock epi pickups.

A few weeks back I posted asking for advice. My soon-to-be 13 year old son wants a Gibby LP. A bit pricey for me and not sure that a guitar of that value belongs in the hands of someone of that age.

Any thoughts and comments? Am looking for something similar to an AC30, but don't really want to get the CC model. Love the cleans and big brit sound from a Vox tho.

I've got a black Distortion(b), great shape, long lead...just not my thing. $55 shipped to the lower 48, or I'll trade for something PAFish. 59'(b) Seth(b) Antquity(b or n), APH (b or n). I'd even look at a Blues Trembucker. I like Nickel covers on my HB's.

Can an Ibanez five way be used as a 3 way or even a two way? I'm leaving the middle pickup unhooked and just want to be able to select the neck and bridge hums seperately in the usual positions. I guess my question is which lug on the switch do I connect to the volume pot? Do I need to bridge any of the other lugs on the switch? This is a RG550 beater. Thanks for any help.

does anyone know if the sh-4jb-sh-2 jazz combo works alright on a fender jazzmaster, any advice would be much appreicated, cheers

For those of who in the know, can you describe the differences between the stock Peavey Wolfgang pickups and the SD '78 model? I think I remember the Peaveys being a little hotter.

I have an unknown fuzz noise coming from my bandmaster when it is tapped. I gently tapped the tubes with a pencil, but none were microphonic. Where else could this noise come from? It cant be my strat because it makes the sound with volume at 0 unplugged. Could it be a connection somewhere? Help.

whats so bad about it? ive read for lots of amps on ebay where the seller says quot;non-smokerquot; or something similar.. what does it do to your amp?

Hey guys. I absolutely love the sound of the Splawn Quick Rod. However, I can't afford the $1500-$1800 price tag. If I had them do their standard Marshall Mod for $350 on a Marshall JCM800, would it sound just like the Quick Rod? Or are the Marshall Mod and Quick Rod two different beasts? I was thinking of scoring a cheap Marshall JCM800 $1000, which isn't bad for a custom/modded amp at all.I've listened to all the clips I can find and watched the videos of of that Van Halen cover band on their web site and the amp sounds amazing.... Exactly the tone I am looking for.

I've discovered how much I love the SH-1 '59's, I want to drop some into a number of my guitars. I'll probably use SH-1N's in both positions. I found them on Musicans Friend for $63.25 and free shipping, seems the cheapest source, people are selling them new on eBay for $70-80 and they're going for mid-$50's PLUS shipping for used ones. Any other sources? Used or new, no pref.

Hello...I'm looking for a bridge pickup which can handle some gain, has a great crunch, and some punch in its power chords...I've been listening to alot of clips, and many of them sound kind of hollow, maybe because of the scooped mids, im not sure. Im into the emo/screamo/power pop stuff such as matchbook romance, hawthorne heights, the starting line, senses fail, and fall out boy so there kind of the tone im looking for. I did some experimenting the other day and found lower output pickups faired best for all styles to my ears.

Yeah, I'm looking for a kick-ass neck pickup that will go nicely with my Dimebucker... I have a Les Paul. I want it to sound both smooth and nice under distortion(think Slash), and it has to be good for sweep picking and such, and it also needs to sound very full and 'pretty' when clean. Any ideas?
