Help-Korina body
I picked up a Korina Kramer pacer/baretta style guitar body off e-bay- it's a replica of the 5150 body and I'm going to build a custom guitar out of it. I bought it because I played an original Kramer baretta at Guitar Center recently and the body just felt real comfortable- I didn't get this body to do some cliche 5150 replica.

Okay so I'm finally starting my warmoth strat project, pick one of these two types:
These are the basic body layouts. The neck is going to be the same either way. But everything I choose later is going to spring from one of these two:

Hiwatt amps
A store close by are getting them in a few weeks time and they are really exited about a few of the models. They are getting the Custom 50 and Studio/Stage MKII. The Custom are supposed to be a quot;Marshall killerquot; but I have heard that quote way to many times.

Santana Tone from a Fender?
Hello to all,
I'm a little hesitant to ask in case of getting laughed down, but is it possible to get a Santana type lead tone (particularly in the song 'Smooth') from a Fender Prosonic with a Les Paul guitar?

Tip: use Fender TBX tone pot when mixing HBs and SCs
Just finished wiring my S/H/S strat (thanks to advice from Fritz through my other thread regaridng a minor out of phase glitch ). Tried S/H/S as an experiment but it's an amazing combination, and with a neck blender pot all seven PU combinations really are very useable.

C-5 is noisy/hissing, is this normal?
I've had my C-5 for a while now and I've always played it in my apartment at relatively low levels. Well, I've always noticed a humming type sound when I switch on he C-5 (it's in the bridge) and it gets a little better when I put it in the 2nd position (C-5 with JB Jr) and the 3rd position is almost completely quiet. The 3rd position's little bit of hiss/noise is something I would concider normal, and it gets even better on position 4 and at 5 (neck lil59) is like nothing.

59N Vs The PGN....What I Hear
After pulling out the 59N and trying the PGN....The two are pretty close..Oddly enough, the PGN seems pretty tight and clear with it's A2 magnet compared to the 59N A5...The PGN has more mids and is chimier on top,but it's still not lacking in the lows and is almost as boomy in the lows as the 59...

Can I sand my fretboard?
I am seriously bothered by the crap fretboard I was handed on my quot;newquot; SG Classic. There are gouges along either side of the frets. I want to try and remedy this. I was thinking I could just sand off some of the face of the fretboard and then buff it out with some #0000 steel wool. It is probably only about 1/32 or 1/64quot;, not much but I'm not sure if will affect the feel. Any problems with this? Here are some pics of my awesome fretboard. Please don't laugh at me.
It shouldnt bother it. After I level and crown frets on a non-laquered board I use 300-2000 (working my way up) git paper then steel wool to polish everything. Just wrap the paper around you finger and work it up and down the board. It dosent take much effort and dont use one grit for that long. After than I oil the board and it look fresh and new. BTW, it will help crown you frets and make them look fresh also.

Metal P90 pup covers
Anyone make these? It would be cool to have a chrome or nickle plated metal cover. It would also help the greatly with the shielding.

JTM45 and JTM 45 Clones
I've heard that some clones of the JTM 45 have smaller transformers which tames the volume necessary for decent natural overdrive. Are the JTM 45 clone's more small club friendly because of this than the real thing? or are they still fairly volume dependent for crunch tones?

What duncans for a basswood RG?
Just bought a cheap ibanez RG350, plays great, but could do with a little more subtlety. Ive heard JB/59 in a Gamp;L mahog/maple, and it was best sound ive heard, but would it work in my RG? If not could anyone suggest others (even other brands!) Bear in mind I dont do the scooped metal thing, more Lifeson, Lizzy, Page etc. Thanks in advance.
