Vol/Vol/Tone RR3
Keep in mind I know nothing about anything about pickups or wiring what-so-ever. My question here is:

Should a treble bleed mod change your tone with the volume maxed?
I put a 180 Pf capasitor on both of the volume pots in my LP last night and noticed a difference in tone today. This is with all the knobs maxed out. I know a treble bleed mod makes a difference when turning down the volume knob, but should it make a difference with the volume knobs maxed? It sounds great now, alot clearer and alot less muddy. This is making me want to keep the LP now .

If you HAD to buy a 2005 Gibson....
I've always had this weird thing about guitars from the year I was born. Currently I own both a Strat and Les Paul from 1973 and they're great axes I love to play and feel like I have some conenction to because of the story of how they both ended up in my hands within a 36 hour period.

Angled Humbucker
My strat copy has an angled humbucker cutout, where the low E-end is slightly closer to the neck than the high end (Basically, it's the same angle that you see on the bridge single coil of a strat). How does this affect the sound (I'm guessing it's to make the low strings sound a little less bridgey) and will it give me any compatibility issues if I replace the humbucker with an SD?

truss rod problems
i have an ibanez acoustic that needs a neck cal. real bad, and i thought to myself quot;ok, i successfully did this to my SG, let's do it to the acousticquot;. i did the trick where you press down on the 1st and 13th frets then tap to 6th fret to check for relief, and there was no quot;clickquot; when i tapped the 6th fret. when i eyeballed the neck, i found that it actually has a sufficient amount of backbow (which explains the terrible fret buzz).
when i attempted to loosen the truss rod to create more relief, it didn't want to budge. i've been told not to force it if it won't turn, so i didn't.

problem with pickups
hey all, i have an esp ex-100 guitar and ive had if for about a year without any problems.. a few days ago when i came to play with it the output from the pickups drastically fell for some reason. I have no idea what happened, but the guitar wasn't hit or damaged in anyway. The volume control works fine, but the tone has stopped working for some reason - all i get is a crackling noise when i turn it. I checked the guitar's wiring and there doesnt appear to be any loose wiring.. HELP!!!

Need a hand with Eugene's Trick Bag..
Ok so... I've been learning Eugene's Trick Bag but its still those damn first arpeggios that are stopping me claiming glory..These are played at 130 BPM... but at the moment I can't get past 90. I'm using alternate picking because my sweep picking is pretty much non-existant. Is it humanly possible to play this using alternate? Or is sweep a must?

Ampeg stompboxes
So I was bored and surfing the web looking for expensive things to lust after and came across the Ampeg Scrambler reissues, an OD and an octaver. A quick trip to Musicians Friend, and I discovered that they are quite pricey. Either way, I am intrigued and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

Internet Guitar Myths
Just thought I'd throw out a few things that some consider to be prevailing wisdom but I just don't buy into:
Tone is in the hands (TIITH)I saw Jimi Ray Halen playing through a solid state Crox practice amp and it sounded just like him even though he usually plays though a MarshaBoogner stack.

DiMarzio HS-2 wiring question.
I've got a Charvel 475xl and I am installing new pickups. Its an H/S/S style guitar with 5 way switch. The Cruiser neck, HS-2 middle and EVO 2 bridge. On the Cruiser pickup package it reads, quot;IMPORTANT NOTE, This pickup is in phase with our full size humbuckers, but not with most single coil pickups, nor with our HS series pickups. To be in phase with this type of pickup, make the Green wire hot, and the Red wire ground.quot; This sounds like I need to actually make the HS-2 out of phase with the Cruiser and the EVO 2. Otherwise the HS-2 will be out of phase with the EVO 2 when these two pickups are selected and in phase when the Cruiser and HS-2 are selected? Am I correct on wiring the Cruiser normal then HS-2 out of phase then EVO 2 normal?
Thank you for the help,

Genesis Mr. Brownie sound clips
Has anyone ever tried a Genesis Mr. Brownie pickup? There is minimal info out there. I would love to here some sound clips if they exsist. Please post them if they do.

Cake? And eat it too...
I have an American Fender Strat. It's all stock. Is there a pickup option that will give me a les paul sound and still be able to have the strat sound?

Well well well, what have we here?
Apparently its the 2nd EBMM Petrucci model in prototype stages. Looks to be a hardtail with an angled headstock and Les Paul scale!
