i've got bridge pickups coming out of my ears so but i need a new neck pickup... will trade for interesting neck pups, prefer alnico ii, pearly gates, jazz type but interested in other neck pickups... or $55 shipped...

I have a peavy predator (baisically a strat) thats made out of either alder or ash, not really sure, and has an all maple neck. I got sik of my EMG 81 and wanna put in an Invader. Is this a good idea?

i'm still fairly new at all the technical aspects of guitar and would like to know what SD pups compare to the dimarzio tone zone (b) and hum from hell (n) pups that are currently in my guitar. i will soon be looking to purchase a second guitar and want something ''different'' than what i have. i love the setup i have now and won't be getting rid of it, just adding something different. so if you can advise as to what SD match the dimarzios i have, i can stay away from them.

I'm thinking of either the Roland Cube 15 or the MicroCube as a practice amp....I'm looking for opinions on which of the two would make a better practice amp.

What do you guys recommend for me in a 2x12 cab for my 120 watt Vox Valvetronix head?

I have a Marshall 1960AV, which has 4 Vintage 30s in it. I am about to trade 2 of them for greenbacks and am wondering the following:

I am fooling around with various combinations and often find that when I wire a HB and a SC together I get a very weak sound - much weaker than the usual quack.

I am looking for opinions on whether it is a good idea to use a pot to split a humbucker. If you have a guitar with this mod, please post here and let me know what you think. It seems like a really cool idea to me.

This is sorta interesting and funny. I was just reading the newsletter on Heritage Guitar's website. They'll be twenty years old in about two weeks. They're working on their 10th anniversary model, with custom made pickups.

Hey guys, I got a 59 in the neck of a LP Studio. It's a little too dark and muddy no matter how I adjust it. But that's not the matter here. I just wanted to know whether any of you guys have tried swapping the magnet in a 59 for a ceramic mag. I know that it will sound different, but since ceramics are said to be brighter. So I just want to know what you think.

How much differnce should be heard between 1 amp; 2, using single coil P/U, I can hear a slight difference at 2 (less highs) but cannot hear any difference at 1. Is the change supposed to be nominal or should it be noticable? the boost at 0 works fine (I had a previous post with a problem that apprears to be gone), thanks
