is there an easy way after conditional formatting to count colored cells,
e.g., say the cond-formating resulted 10 cells in col A that are red and you
wanted to include that total at end of the analysis, rather than counting
them up manually.
thanks

Easy--no (well, in my opinion).

Chip Pearson has some code you can use to see if it's difficult for you:
cpearson.com/excel/CFColors.htm

If I were doing it, I'd try to mimic the same conditional formatting rules in a
cell in the same row--then use that.

What was the condition that made the cells turn red? You may be able to
count them that way.--
