I have a column in which each cell contains either quot;Wquot; or quot;Lquot;
What formula do I use to total cells that contain either of these two
characters?
thanks
jb
For W or L in Col_A
To count W's:
=COUNTIF(A:A,quot;Wquot;)
Does that help?

There are other ways like Conditional sum wizard, etc.
=COUNTIF(D17,quot;Wquot;)
