when it comes to amps, it's not about how loud is your amp... a friend and I were just having this discussion this morning.

So i'm starting to find that I want a differnt type of distortion. I have a peavey xxl stack and I use the Ultra channel for all the rythem work. Does anybody use a stompbox instead of thier amps dirty channel? (or an over drive with the distortion channel?) In the past, I always seemed to get a very over equilized sound when using stomp boxes distortion, and they always sounded like crap with the stompboxes eq and the amps eq. Does anyone know of a good pedal that doesnt sound bad at live volumes when ran through an amp?

I'm in the market for a mint green pickguard for my Tele. I have seen some pretty nasty attempts at mint...anyone know who makes nice ones that have that nice touch of green without being too puke-ish?

Just trim the mounting tabs? I'm prob going to leave the pole screws long, since I like my pups nice and close to the strings.

I was wondering if u guys would answer this okay i hav a les paul alder or mahogany with a rosewood fretboard and do u think a 59 and a C5 would be the right choice? I play metal, and also what is the C5 like i dont see any1 talking about it.

Bare in mind I'm pretty ignorant with wiring- I'm trying to wire up the five-way switch to get the bridge in series. First off, the Gibson switch has more blades than than in the Duncan diagram. I'll try and make a diagram here that shows the wiring I have hooked up right now. Keep in mind the color codes here are Gibson. The Duncan diagram shows four blades, the Gibson switch has a group of four blades and a group of five blades. Not sure what to make of it. Ground wires seem to be intact so I won't show them in the diagram. to my ears, the last postion (neck humbucker) is the only one in series. The first set of four blades are the bridge humbucker's wires, the second set of five are for the neck 'bucker.G = green
W = white

Are there any better/cheaper/quieter pedals that do the same thing as:
-Deluxe Electric Mistress (for classic flanger tone)

This is really just a general thread about fender history. I'm on the verge of buying a new amp and am looking very seriously at fender. I think I know a little about what I should be looking for. Blackface's are more desirable that silver faces, right? The re-issues' valves are mounted to the PCB board so they're a no go.

Personally, I hate guitars with floyds and much prefer a Les Paul style tune-o-matic bridge. However, every now and again I come across a song where a whammy bar is needed for a dive bomb.
