Yeah, that's a fretboard.

Some people may look at it and think, quot;Wot's the deal wi'at bugger?quot;

I personally think that it adds a bit of character to what could be an 'ordinary' Lester.

No BIGGIE, she's still got the tone.

If that's the fretboard on your new R7 (which it should be judging by the color of the inlays), I'm not sure what my reaction would be. On one hand, it's unique. On the other hand, they should select fretboards for Historics more carefully, and look for uniformity of grain and color.

what? wanna explain what looks F'd up? i just see a streaky (grain pattern) slightly dry looking board...unless i'm missing something...or the dark streaks are the problem...

I bet TC hates it! Same guy that went through, what, 3 ES's because he didn't like the grains?

I see the same. It's really up to you if the different colors bother you. Some like it. The only boards I'm picky about are ebony, I usually like those as dark as they can be.

look twards the bottom of the pic, notices the distance between the a and d strings is far apart. and the distance between g and b strings is super small.

Whoever is waiting for a great deal to come along on a Gibson Historic Reissue 57' Les Paul Goldtop, get your credit card up in the bullpen to start warming up.

oooo alright.

There's something wrong with it?

I think your nut is cut a little off.

at least it doesn't look like it's been hammered to sh!t, like those pics someone posted earlier

Personally, I like a lot of grain in my rosewood fretboards, but that's just not right. You've got a damn line running right down the middle of it. Send it back!

I think it looks fine personally... I wouldn't have even noticed if it were mine

HOw many Gibsons do you guys have to buy before you relize that no matter what the attention to detail is not as good as we all want it to be? I have a bad feeling that that is the fingerboard to the R7 and if so that sucks, but even if it was a Standard...NO! WAIT!!! Even if that was the fingerboard to a Studio it is unacceptible on any guitar costing more that say $500.00!
