Long and Mcquade prices...negotiable?
Ok, time for the Canadian equivalent. I'm not sure how much contact people here have had with Lamp;M, but I've never been successfull haggling with them except for a single time. I was buying a used guitar which had been in the store for a while, and the salesman was this old guy who's been doing his thing for decades who knows me and my dad from buying things over the years through him at the store.

More Single Coil Ideas -
I'm thinking in terms of a single coil neck pickup for jazz-approved warmth and clarity but blues-certified testosterone.

SM57 Problem! Help!
Hey dudes. I have a recording setup at home that is not working out very well for recording electric guitars. I have been trying to mic up my cab using a new SM57 going into a Behringer UB1202 Mixer, then into an M-Audio Audiophile Soundcard, then into Mackie Tracktion software. The problem is that everything I record has this nasty fuzzy noise that is not coming from my amp or anything in the room. You can hear the noise in this clip:

Are there any 15-40 watt tube combos that are good right out of the box?
I been looking into some small combos like Traynor YCV20WR, 40WR, Peavey Classic 30, etc. and the majority opinion seems to be that they're great amps AFTER you put in new tubes and a new speaker. Are there any combos good right out of the box I'm overlooking?

are there any companie's that are relatively cheap that have piezo's in them? i was thinking about it, and it'd be really cool to have those abilities on an electric.

Anyone know about this LP copy?
I saw it at a pawn shop today, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. It says quot;Deluxe Series 737quot; on the headstock. There's no other identification on it. I think it may be a Hondo, but I'm not sure. It's a bolt-on neck. The headstock is slightly larger than a LP, but it's the same shape. The body was made from several sheets of a light colored wood (some of the paint was scratched off the back) pressed together.

So, a local music store has a mint Gamp;L Legacy (3 single coil) strat. It is used but looks brand new. It has the stock Gamp;L pickups. They want $750.00
