How do you get the nut to hold on to its slot? On my guitars, the nuts are held to the fingerboard on its side, but there's nothing on the other. I can't get a proper snug fit since well there's only one wall to support it against. When I put it on and string it on so I can file it while on the guitar, it always slides one way or another, and I can't really do my work. How do you get it to hold, if possible?

Would Seymour-Duncan Vintage, Hot, or Custom P-90's fit into a Gibson SG Standard or Epiphone G-400.

Duncan custom in the bridge, but what in the neck?
Hey everyone,
I've got a Jackson DKMGT series with passive EMGs in it. Very lifeless pickups. I'm in search of replacement pickups that will give me both a newer rock tone as well as a more classic high-gain lead tone (think of Slash playing through his neck pickup ...that's what i'm going for). I've got my sights set on a Duncan Custom in the bridge and a '59 in the neck. Is this a good match? if not, what will work better in the neck? I've decided to go with something a little more vintage for versatility reasons. Any help is much appreciated, whether professional or from just personal experience. Thanks a lot everyone.

i need help with my amp
ok lastnight and earlier today everything sounded fine with my tele. well i just tried to play with my other guitar which has a pearly gates bridge in it. and now for some reason when i switch the channel for my overdrive on the amp my volume drop by half or alittle more. everything is still set like it was. so it should be an even volume on both channels. also my volume is on 2 and its breaking up. it wasnt doing that earlier either. the amp is a peavey classic 50 4x10. i even tried my tele through it to make sure it wasnt the guitar with the same results. would my tubes going out do that or is it somehting else? i've never had an amp do this before i expect it to break up but not at when the volume is on 2.

I refinished a cheep epiphone neck with tung oil. The neck was two pieces of maple, and the piece used for the headstock is flamed.

Has You Tried or Played Through The Valvetech Hayseed-Opinions Please???
Considering getting a Hayseed Head. It is based on a Vox AC-30 and with a few options includes the AC30-4 preamp, which uses and EF86, in addition to the standard Topboost circuit. Comes with a 1/2 power switch and is all PTP wired and the builder also doe the cabs. The head is under $1000 bucks, probably closer to 900.

Mini-humbuckers vs Tele neck pup
I've been bouncing all over the place on what to do about my PV project guitar. I've got it narrowed down to 2 options.
