I need recommedations for a PA combo. It must be under $300. This is just for band practice, we usually don't need a PA for gigs because clubs have their own, but just in case we do, we want a good sounding system. A 4 channel head with 2x10 is good enough, I think. What brand would you suggest?

Want some wood? :) Nekkid pictures! Updated
Sorry, couldn't resist. Jeff Swanson sent me some pictures. I thought I'd pass them along. The only changes to be made at this point is to cut out a bit along the top piece to allow easier access to the knobs on the front panel.

what neck pickup?
ok, what should i get for my charvel?i need a single coil sized humbucker.
at first, i wanted a lik 59 but after thinking about it, im not sure anymore. i also thought about the vintage rails, i like single coil sounds, i like how they cut through, and their clean sound is beautiful. another thought i had was the classic stack

Crate 8, 12, and 32? New?
I saw these at guitar center today right when I walked in. I have never seen them before, they're blone with a gold faceplate. Small tube amps, look just like the 50s, etc. I asked an employee if they used a tube rectifier, and he said they did. I thought, sweet! 8 watt tube amp with a tube recto and a 10quot; speaker! Perfect! I asked him how much they were becuase there wasn't a price tag... he walked off and I never saw him again. I didn't even get to play through it.

French guitar brands!!!
Yep you read it right. There are 2 main French electric guitar brands, and I'd like you guys to have a look. They're expensive, beautiful, and everyone I know agrees, astonishing quality.
They're called Lag, and Vigier *dun dun*

30W or more for jamming?
I will buy a Marshall amp. I have a 15W, but I want to have a better one for use when jamming. Is a 30W (the Marshall MG30DFX) enough (considering drums) or do I have to get more (f.ex. Fender FM 65R) ?

Les Paul P-ups
Which of the three shoud i go w/. I've got a mahogany/alder body lp w/ a rosewood fingerboard and mahongany neck material. The top wood is also mahogany/alder. The music I'm into is mainly any rock from the 70s and 80s. Some of my favorite bands are Ac/dc and GNR (thus the ALnico IIs) however I do like anyting from classic Metallica and other old metal to stevie ray vaughn.

Pick or strumming solos?
I just wanted your opinions from you guys of how I should be doing solos. Right now I'am mostly doing the pick one string at a time. I have tried to use the method of muting all strings, but one string and strumming. Do you guys think I should do this instead of picking? For shredding it just seems more natural to just pick one string at a time, except for sweeping which seems like slow strumming mostly for me.

LEDs for amp footswitch
I want to build a footswitch for my amp's boost and channel switching. I have the TRS thing figured out but would seek wisdom on LEDs. Most of the ones I see at Rat Shack are either 2-2.5V or 12V units. Is that all that's commonly available? Like most amps, mine uses the 6V tap for the footswitch.

FS: Soldano Avenger
I am currently selling a 4 month old Soldano Avenger. I bought this amp new in Jan. 2005 and it has had very little playing time since. (I moved to bass shortly after buying it.) I paid $1550 for it new in January and I am asking $1200 for it. Tubes have lots of life left in them and the amp just sounds amazing. If anyone is interested let me know.
