WTB: Lollar Basic Pickup Winding Book
Anyone have a copy they want to sell? My fiancee's mother has told me to pick out a guitar related book I want for my birthday, this is the one I need, and it's out of print...

If the tone is there...do you care about aesthetics?
So you go into your local Guitar place.

Question about tone?
Ok, so I thought I quot;basicallyquot; knew how a pickup worked, and what affected tone, but it turns out i dont. The thing that is puzzling me is resistance and output. What i've been led to believe is the the more output a pup has the more distortion you can get out of it, right? I used to think that resistance and ouput were proportional, an increase in resistance meant an increase in output, but i studied some spec charts and it turns out that this is not the case. So what does resistance do then? If output is independent of resistance, how does resistance affect tone?

Recording preamps
I'm looking into buying a mic preamp for recording guitar and vocals onto my PC. I've been using my cheapo 4-track as a preamp to boost the signal to line level into my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard, but the quality is obviously not that great.

StewMac Golden Age pups VS Duncans
Anyone try the Golden Age pickups yet? Supposed to be vintage tone. Way cheaper than DiMarzios and Duncans. May be a good reason for that.....or not.

Princeton Reverb Re-Issue?
Why isn't there a Princeton Reverb RI? The Blues Junior is in the slot once filled by the Princeton. A Princeton Reverb RI would be a great seller. I should drop a suggestion to Fender and see if they think I'm right. I could shop ebay and pawn shops until I find a used PR in my price range, but that's not really the point of my query.

Stubborn Nut bolt.
On my Floyd locking nut, one of the allen bolts on the underside of the neck is unremovable. By that i mean the allen wrench that is meant to fit, doesn't. The head of the bolt is completely worn, so i have no way of loosening the bolt.
Does anyone have ideas about how to get it out.

Saw And Played One Sweet Amp Today
At Guitar Center of all places. A 1955 Fender Deluxe (reverb I think). Old timey lacquered tweed, very well worn, ragged in places....looked like it had seen a thousand smokey bars and been tossed in the back of countless cars. It would look killer sitting in the corner of your guitar room with a beat up sunburst strat leaning against it.

What cab to try?
I have a Behringer V-amp Pro pre-amp with a ADA Micro Tube 200 watt power amp. I use the clean channel (with some delay) of the Behringer and for distortion I use a Tube Screamer TS-9, and/or a Blues Driver. My guitar is a Schecter C/SH with Jazz and JB pick-ups. Right now I'm using a Marshall MG100 4 12's cab with it. I've been hearing a lot about the difference that speakers can make on a rig and I have no idea what speaker my cab even has. It sounds alright for distortion but for some reason my other guitar player gets a more clear sound out of his Peavey cab.

Pole Pieces on the Inside or outside?
I made the mistake of ordering a Zebra Neck and a Reverse Zebra Bridge, and in order to get the reverse zebra look I have to flip the neck pickup around so the pole pieces are on the inside for the neck and on the outside for the bridge. APH-1N, and APH-1B

Tell me about your SPLAWN!
If you recall my thread about the Carvin Legacy, I asked for feedback about the Legacy. I was very impressed with what I heard, as well as what I saw on the Carvin DVD, so I called them. My experience with Carvin was nothing less than terrible. The salesman was rude as could be, and I will never buy a Carvin product for as long as I live.
