Electric Lap steel guitar. Is there any problem with this? And Ill be tuning to Open D

Most steel string acoustic guitar strings have high levels of brass and bronze in them, neither of which have magnetic capabilities that normal electric guitar strings have. They just don't work as well in the magnetic field of a pickup.

Exactly... if you´re using standard magnetic pickups you´ll have output and tone issues, if you´re using piezos (under the saddle style) no issues at all
