What to expect with SH-8B and SH-6N
My son has an Epi Les Paul Special II with an SH-8 Invader in the bridge. Am considering getting him a SH-6 Distortion to put in the neck. The neck version of the Distortion is still a high output humbucker but might be the match he is looking for. He is into Shredding :-) What kind of tones can I expect from this match? Will the clean sound be ok? Thanks.

JB Split?
How does the JB sound split? Its another factor of consideration as i'm comparing it with a C5. I heard the C5 will split better and sound better. I'm set on a 59' neck. Btw, is the JB = JEFF BECK or JAZZ BLUES?

Which p/u for my guitar?
I have an Ibanez GAX-70 ( I like it...) The stock p/u's are obviously horrible. Which bridge p/u would compliment the guitar the best? It's an Agathis body if you don't already know. I'd say it's a more trebly high end and a muddy low end. I'm looking for a decent amount of highs, medium-strong mids, and a nice low end but not too much. I'm a mid/treble fan. I play heavy melodic rock if you will. I've always considered the JB but I believe it might sound too thin in my guitar, considering it's already trebly and muddy. The Distortion has always been fair game. I think it would add to the low end and mids and clear everything up. Any opinions/suggestions are welcome. Please help me out. I'm in the search of a good p/u for this guitar. I'm trying to customize it even though it's on the cheaper end. Thanks!

Need a Musicman Pickup for SR4
hey does anyone have an original MM pickup for a 4-string bass? I need a pickup and if you have one I'll pay top dollar for it or I'll pay a finders fee to whoever locates one for me and I buy the one they found?

Terrible thing just happened
Well I had this brilliant idea of tuning down a half step, kinda got tired of it and decided to go back up. Well im twisting the screw up that holds the right side of the strings, feels tighter but I keep going, all of sudden it starts wobbling!!! I pulled out the screw only to find it broken in two with the threaded part stuck inside the guitar, too far to pull out. What the hell do I do? I'm trying to think positive, thinking this is great experience for me to learn some more about repairing guitars, but I'm still pissed!!!

Hybrids, Hybrids, and more Hybrids
What Hybrid would you be interested in hearing, other than the ones that have already been done such as the 59/custom? I will start by suggesting an A2P/CC hybrid.

STRATDELUXER97'S Modified DS-1 is here!!!
...and it's kickin' major butt!!! I've sent John aka STRATDELUXER97 my stock Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal for the mods as fellow members have been talking about the mods that he does to these pedals and turning them into TONE MONSTERS. Well, i found out first hand about the TONE and all i can say is, holy smokes!!! The modded DS-1 is absolutely happening!! The improvement in TONE and response is absolutely amazing. It sounds more like a quot;REALquot; Tube Amp and not like an effect pedal now with John's mods. The Tube-like response and characteristics are awesome. It responds to the dynamics of your playing, and it feels ''ALIVE''! I took my old Japanese Boss DS-1 out of my pedalboard and replaced it with John's quot;Mods For Tonequot; DS-1 and it will be staying there. I can't stop playing this thing eversince i got it this morning!!! John also installed a bigger LED that lights up in YELLOW!!! Overall, John's DS-1 mods has more gain, clarity, individual note response, transparency, dynamics, smoother and just tons great great TONE. John, thank you again Brother! This has given me a lot of inspiration to play again. My hats off to you
To those of you fellow forum members out there with stock DS-1's, send it to John for the mods. You'll be glad you did.

Trading DD Cream for a Custom 5
I'd like to trade my cream DD for a Custom 5. Ideally I'm looking for a nickel covered C5 and I'd through in the money difference as I know they're a bit more expensive. But cream or black would do as well. Guess I'd be willing to buy a C5 too, but then I'd still have to sell my DD! Thanks.

Will new Pups help me?
Hey folks. I have a Guild StarFire IV with the original guild pick-ups. I'm looking to give it a little more 'fire' and take away some of its jazzy side (I don't want it totally removed but definitely subdued). Are there any pick-ups you can recommend that I could drop into this puppy to give a little more of an edge?
