hi dudes....how are you doing?

I posted a thread earlier trying to find the sweetest tone and SD lists both the Alnico II Pro Flat and Staggered as sweet pickups. What is the difference between flat and staggered?

...is it just me? Or did the original big allen screw poles they used to have look a lot cooler?

Well ladies and germs, it's time I inform you of some of my ideas.

When I play unplugged, the unwound strings hit a resonance frequency that makes the tremolo springs ring. Especially since I don't use the trem right now, I'm thinking of putting some foam or cloth in the back of the guitar to muffle the springs. I don't see a problem with doing this. It seems to be a no-brainer easy fix.

Hi Guys.

Alright... well you know, I've only started playing 3 months ago, but I got a guitar with a Floyd and because I had read about them, I had NO problems whatsoever. It's all about knowing about them. So I made this little guide thingy. It's not complete (it's not like I have loads of experience with it...) and if some of you are willing to make a 'super Floyd guide', I'd be more than happy for this to be the basics for a more complex and complete guide. So suggest and criticize away
The Floyd Rose is a floating bridge. It is not fixed to the body, but rests on two poles. The balance is achieved by countering the string tension with springs. This brings to the rule number 1: unless you have A LOT of experience, do NOT change the string gauge by yourself: the tension will change and your neck will suffer.

I know it's a bit of a daft question, but are single coil pickup covers standard across the range? Will my cover for my SSL-1's fit a Twangbanger or a Quarterpounder? I'm primarily looking for a Twangbanger for the bridge of my Legacy, and I might be able to get 1 secondhand, but without a cover.
Cheers

ok, so you have no budget, and the space is basically unlimited....what would you include? you need mics, monitors, something to actually record, a board, etc....

I'm looking at a Gibson patent-stamped bracket with dual zebra coils, NO adjustable posts, 4 thin white magnet-strips, reads 9.28k

I saw a Fender Redondo yesterday and was wondering if anyone here had others. I would like to see photos if you have as well.

What do y'all think of them? I already have an SM-1 in the neck of my 50's style solid paired with a Jerry Donahue at the bridge. I also have a MIJ 69 Thinline re-issue that I put a Hot Tele set into, and while cool, I was thinking of doing something a little more left of center.

Why is that the Gibson explorer is advertised as the '76 Explorer and the Epi version is called the '58? Whats the difference?
