Ive been using my Marshall Mg head for gigs and practices with my band, but im getting fed up with it and its lack of tone, nothing sounds good coming from it. I have a Hughes and Kettner edition tube 20 that i want to start using for live performances. It has great cleans, but the distortion is more laid back and doesnt have the low end chunk or growl that im looking for. After some debating ive decided to try and use a pedal to run for my overdriven tones. Im looking for a smooth, chuncky tone. Kind of like Adam Jones meets Lamb of God meets puppets era Metallica. I dont use a ton of gain either, so i dont need some super high gain beast. I was thinking about trying the boss super overdirve, but i dont know if it will give me the growl im looking for. I was also looking at some of the marshall pedals, but ive never played any and dont know how they sound. Any one have any suggestions? any help would be appreciated. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg either, im looking for something around $100 or cheaper, so im not looking for any boutique pedals.

I'm looking to buy a Strat 2 Point Trem in chrome for my most current project.

Just getting into guitar electronics and wanted to know what type/awg of shielded wire to buy for using on ground connections to pots,jacks etc.. What uses does 2 conductor wire have over single conductor etc..
Is there a particular brand/parts no. thats superior to others???

I've heard some good things about this pedal but what types of tones does it give off? Anyone have any personal experiences with it?

How does the Cruiser compare to the CR?

I've always been curious about Ashdown Peacemakers, but have never seen one anywhere.

A lot of people are PMing me for this.. so I'll just post the layout. I don't know why I didn't before. This is how my guitar and pedal are wired. In order to activate the guitars on-board pickup selector, you must flip the switch on the guitar, and select quot;Both pickups onquot; on the pedal. I'll be putting Blue LED's on this when I get them. Any suggestions? Improvements? Thanks Guys.
I'm not understanding. The pedal performs the function that a pickup selector on a guitar would normally do?

A friend of mine has been in the search for a new amp for a while and the other day i stumbled across the Ashdown Fallen Angel 60 Head, ive showed him the specs and he seems really set on buying it, now this is what i need to know.

I get a funny hum sound when I coonect my guitar to my amp. If I touch the toggel swith or pots , it goes away. I figured ther must be some grounding problem. But just for kicks I disconnected the amp from the Extension cord and pluged the amp directly into the power socket in the wall and there is no hum. I cheked the extension cord sockets if ther was any leakage current with a tester and found none. Cld ther still be a problem with grounding with the guitar or wld it be the Extension cord?

What do you guys think? I'm thinking my next purchase to be a Second hand/cheap Jazzmaster, and get 2 phat cats and put them in her. Match made in heaven, or hell?? Or maybe one Phat cat in the neck and a quater pounder in the bridge?

I'm getting a 1980 Gibson E/2 in about a month (The Mahogany/Walnut) version. It's used and apparently the previous owner thought it was a good idea to put an X2N at the bridge and an Invader at the neck.

I`m thinking of getting rid of my Mesa Single Rectifier and picking up one of these amps. I heard samples of both and they both sound good. I just wanted to get some input on what others think. I play at home, no gigs or concerts for me. The Mesa is becoming a single tone to my ears and I wanted to get a more versitle amp that is not to expensive.
