Hiya!
I have a Squier Bullet Special with one humbucker pickup. It sounds okay clean and pretty good with distortion however, if I try to do a full chord in distortion it sounds incredible muddy. Then on top of that, it doesn't sound very good when used clean for jazz music at my schools jazz band - much too bassy and adjusting the amp doesn't help.

Holeless covers.
How would a nickel cover that covers both sides of the pups pole pieces affect the tone?

Which HB for Tele neck?
I'm putting a HB in the neck postion of my MIM Tele. I have to choose between an Ant Neck ,Ant Bridge or 60's Surf HB. I live abroad in a country where attention to detail is not a national trait. In the shop, these pups are all in boxes but they might have been mixed up. How do I ID them accurately? There are two 60's Surfs. Are they made in neck and bridge models? They have and Seth Lovers signatures on the back. There are also serial numbers on all the boxes and some stickers with numbers on the backs of all the pups. The Ants are priced around 100USD and the Surfs are 80USD. They are all used. For the near future, I plan to leave the stock bridge PU in. I have the six saddle top loader bridge. I also plan to put in a 5 way PU selector and a thru the body bridge with three brass saddles. I play mostly blues, slide ,RR and some country influenced stuff. So, back to my original question: What would be the best HB for my Tele? As you might tell, I'm new at this tech stuff ,so any input will be appreciated.

Peavey: Is the 6505 going to give me the 5150 sound?
I actually never tried the 5150 Peavey head but people say it is good. I can't seem to find the 5150 on peaveys webpage, it seems like the 5150 head is now called 6505. Anyone know if it is the same amp and just got a new name or something...is the 6505 as good as the 5150?

Finally got around to taking pictures of my gibson nighthawk.
A very unique guitar made by Gibson. Discontinued quite some years ago. This one is a '93. I bought this one from big_black. You can get some really convincing strat and tele tones out of it, which is odd judging from it's appearance. The neck took some getting used to for me because the nut width is 1 5/8quot; and the scale length is 25.5quot; like a fender, plus the neck back profile is fat and round. I usually prefer a wider, flatter neck. It's also string through body with a fender style bridge. Very cool guitar. For a while I didn't know if I was going to keep it, but it's by far one of the, if not the best sounding guitar I've ever played.

Pickups for Hendrix tone?
Hello All, this is my first post here. And, of course, looking for some input.
I just picked up a 2005 US Strat (alder body, maple fretboard), and I'm alittle less than impressed with the tone of the stock pickups. It's that whole delta tone system. I'll be doing other mods to the guitar, but with the incredible amount of pickups available to the layperson nowadays, it's difficult to know what to get.

New pickup for an RR custom
I need a good metal pickup for the bridge position of my RR custom. I like using the neck pickup that came in it for leads because its got a smooth sound, for the bridge I'd like a rhythm pickup thats alittle more crunchy with lots of harmonics. Suggestions?

Is this a problem???
Hi, today I bought a Duncan Distortion pickup for my guitar. I fitted it in and it works perfect. Sound AMAZING! lol. but I've noticed a few things that are a bit weird.
First of all, when the amp is set clean, my stock neck pickup is louder than my bridge pickup. but when the amp is on distortion, they are exactly the same volume.

Where to find model number on pickup?
I just bought a guitar( schecter C-1 ) off of ebay and it turns out the neck pickup is a duncan. I pulled it out and saw no model number on it , only a sticker that said DD. Would this be a duncan distortion ?
