I thought I'd post the link here for forum members that might be looking for a Vintage Boss OD-1 Overdrive pedal ( 1986 ). Thanks!

This pedal is from my personal collection of vintage Boss Pedals.
Since when do we consider 1986 quot;vintagequot;?
I'd say give it at least another 10 to 15 years.

I consider a 19 year old pedal a Vintage pedal. Almost 2 dacades. This pedal came out when you were just 7 years old. Please, if you don't have anything positive to say about this thread, please don't bother to post. It's not really helping. A lot of forum brothers here usually try help each other out. I'm trying to sell something in an honest way and not trying to scam anybody by misrepresenting the item saying it's vintage when it's not according to you. Please.
These are the best OD pedals ever made IMHO. I have one that I bought new back in the day and it is still going strong. I have used it in front of Marshalls, Fenders, Mesas, Peaveys, Riveras, Buddas, Soldanos, and currently using it with my Bogner. If I had to have only one OD pedal this would be it. It ALWAYS give me the love
hell yes, i was gonna chime in earlier but it woulda been a senseless bump lol
OD-1 is the original OD pedal.. i havnt a clue why BOSS discontinued it, but if your talking 'vintage' boss, this is at the top of the list, above the HR-2, PN-2, anything...
and vintage dosen't mean old - it just means a period of time where the best ones are made - 2003 brut champagne is a vintage year, but its pretty much brand new by wine standards

Way to make me feel old. I was born in 1986.
haha im 87, the damned things older than me
Thanks forum bro frankencat and Imp! I really appreciate it 1986 is the last year of Boss/Roland products made in Japan. The following year, production moved to Taiwan. So, this OD-1 was actually from the last year Boss pedals were made in Japan. It's a sweet sounding overdrive. It was eventually replaced by the SD-1 Super Overdrive, which is basically the OD-1 but with an added Tone Control knob. Boss has been known to do this to improve their pedal designs but sometimes the more control knobs they add to a pedal, the tone seems to lose its sweetness. I think that's the reason why the OD-1 had such a sweet ovedriven tone is because of the lack of a tone control.
didnt know that, i have a MIJ SD-1 that i never switch off these days.. must have a look at fixing the tone pot to the OD-1 value w/ a resistor..
and the stuff you hear about a difference between MIJ and MIT, my god its so true! mebbe not so much with digital pedals, but the ODs, SDs and so forth really took a bashing when they moved them to taiwan IMO ...
