Just a quick thanks to the posters here, I never asked questions, only read post after post (I believe you call it lurking).

Holy ****E!!!! This pup is perfect in the bridge position!!! Not too hot, with plenty of mids and bottom end. It defiently is the perfect quot;hot rodded PAF quot; tone IMO. The only drawback is that is not nearly as loud as the stock neck pup.

I need an impedance chart of all the Duncan humbuckers. This is important to me but i cant seem to find this info.

I was playing my Hughes and Kettner combo earlier and I blew a tube. I had a replacement and everythings all good now, but i have a couple questions for ya.

I know that many people still swear by the newer Marshall cabs, but i am curious, are they still built the way they were back in the 60's and 70's or have they to some extent been at least been victim to the whole cost cutting thing like their heads? I mean, new Marshall cabs cost half as much as many others... And whats the deal with the 1960c and 1960v cabs they make? I have a hard time believing that having V30's or Greenbacks instead of 75's constitutes that much of a mark up from the standard 1960 Marshall cab. So whats the scoop on all of this?

My current pedal board consists of the following: Boss TU2 --gt; Dunlop Crybaby--gt; Guyatone compressor --gt; Boss DS1 --gt; Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive --gt; Boss GE7. Out of those, only the Sparkle Drive has a true bypass as far as I know. How much do you think my tone is being affected? In normal playing conditions, the compressor, 1 or the other of the drive pedals, and the E.Q. are always on. That leaves the tuner, wah, and the DS1 that could affect the tone. What is everyone's opinion on this?

Hey there! I just registered here, and I'm the very proud owner of a 1987 Charvel model 4. It's a MIJ strat (bolt on, 22 frets) with very dark rosewood fretboard (a friend of mine thought it was ebony), sharkies, pointy headstock, Floyd rose, midbooster, HSS pickup configuration, and individual pickup switches. It's my first guitar and I couldn't be happier, the neck is the most comfortable thing I have ever played and the guitar is mint aside from some scratches here and there. It's just one year younger than me so I guess it could way worse
So does anyone else here own a Charvel? Model series, toothpaste series, San Dimas?

Anyone have experience with the differences between the ST and CL models? I'm looking at the 50 watt heads but haven't ruled out the combos. From what I've read the CL has an extra gain stage while the ST delivers better cleans. Have I got this right? I'm looking for, well, everything; good cleans, bluesy OD, to quot;scare the kiddiesquot; hi gain.

I was back in my old college studio the other day and was amazed to see that they had kept my old A-Level music project on the HD recorder from like 2 years ago. I had my laptop with me and decided to transfer to that, 1/2 an hour later i went home and started some rough mixing.

I really like the tone of my Invader but its a little too hot, and just a touch muddy. I was thinking that an Alnico 5 magnet would cure this. Can this be done, if so, can someone give me a link to a place where i can get the procedure. Or would it be better to get a tech to do it.

I´m getting a jb for my jackson´s bridge but need help for the neck pickup.
I will be using the neck pickup for mainly leads, and a decent clean tone would be nice as well.

Um, I would like to try my hand at recording etc.... the only problem is I keep half assing the whole agenda so, I thought if you guys listed out some of your fav GN'R songs I would pick one record it and post it. Not that I'm going to run out and buy one, but how are those LTD Les Paul looking guitars they always have in Musician's Friend? There's the sort of bare bones ones, and the others with the Duncans. They look killer, but you never know. Anyone got one?

Now, I was looking at different guitars for awhile and one I really liked was the Fender Classic Series 50s Strat. But it was 300 dollars more then I could afford. So I go inside going to choose a new Standard Strat.
