I need an impedance chart of all the Duncan humbuckers. This is important to me but i cant seem to find this info.

There's only this tone chart. You won't find an quot;impedancequot; chart per se, because how would anyone know what frequency you wanted to measure at?

ISn´t the DC resistance = Impedance?? Or am I missing a detail here?

Maybe he is getting Impedance mixed up with Inductance ( henry)?? You will not be able to find the Inductance on Duncans.

Impedance is AC resistance. Whereas DC resistance is a static measurement, impedance is an active one. A pickup coil would have a different impedance at 400hz than at, say 1 Mhz. Impedance could be measured at a quot;nominalquot; frequence, like speakers, but it wouldn't mean much. I think thats why they publish DC resistance instead. It will always be the same.

Ah, yess, AC vs. DC, that´s the detail

Thanks

dc resistance is not strictly the same as impedance ... perhaps the confusion comes because they are both measured in ohms ... impedance is an AC characteristic and varies with frequency ... DC resistance is just a special case of that - resistance with frequency = 0 Hz ... if one could put a sinusoid signal with a known amplitude (voltage) at a given frequency into the circuit (in this case, a pickup), then one could measure the output and determine the resistance at that frequency ... changing the frequency would result in a different measurement ... sweeping the frequency band (taking output measurements for every input frequency) would theoretically yield a frequency response plot for the circuit

i've often wondered if there was a way to do this for pickups and figured we dont see it because it would be competitive suicide for pickup makers ... hell, some of them wont even tell you what kind of magnet they use ... hopefully, this explanation suggests how limited info such as DC resistance and peak resonance freq really is in determining a pickups sonic characteristics

ultimately, we have to use our ears ... and the 21 day return policy is just perfect for this

hope this helps

Yes i wanted the DC resistance, im sorry i was thinking of speakers or somthing. But i found the info...well some of it anyway. Ive decided i like the not so hot 10K pickups, it has just the right amount of gain clearity that i like. Ive tried a few others and they get a little to muddy. The screamin demon is what i went with but im curious about the bluebucker. It seems to have a little more balls.
