If I was gonna buy something like that, I'd need a hell of a lot more proof...

Would be pretty difficult to get absolute proof I reckon.

I wonder how many people at that shop have had a go with that amp. If I worked there, locked up safe it may be, but I would make it my goal to get that amp roaring at least once.

Wow... looks to be the real deal, but how can one be absolutely certain? I'd like to try it and see how many familiar Jimi tones come out of it.

LOL....I love this ****....lol. I really do. Stuff like this, authentic or not, gets advertised in such a way that people think they'll sound like the person that played that guitar or amp. It kills me.

Want Hendrix? (or pretty damn close)
- 1 1959 re-issue with matching 4x12
- 1 1960's Fender Strat with stock pickups (although SSL-1's will do)
- 1 Vox wah
- 1 Rotovibe
- 1 DA Fuzz (or similar fuzz)
- Several gray and/or black coil cables (gotta have extras)
- 1 sweatband (for the mojo)

Play well at loud volumes for 30 minutes or until guitar catches fire....LMAO.

That was my thought when I started this thread. If it's a genuine Hendrix amp, then fabulous for any collector, but if your playing is crap, you're still going to sound crap through this amp.

suppose - but the proof that's on there now is worth next to nothing. I could've painted JH EXP on a plexi, and come up with a half decent story like that and put it up for £30,000 just as easy. If someone is going to advertise an amp for that amount of money, they should have a LOT better proof in my opinion.

The first two sounded great but upon trying the third it made the other two sound insignificant, completely blowing them away #8211; in tone and power.

It then became obvious that it was this particular amp that played a key role in providing the unique Jimi Hendrix sound.

That's totally a subjective thing, and by no means whatsoever any proof that it was Jimi Hendrix's favourite amp (and that's provided that he actually owned it). He claims the amp is a '69, yet Electric Ladyland was released in 1968 and Are You Experienced in '67, so how could it provide quot;the unique Jimi Hendrix soundquot; if his most famous recording and tones had already been released before the amp was made?

I think Marshall have checked out this amp there was an peice about it the the brit mag Guitrist the guy that has it did'nt realise what he had at first looks like the same amp !

Furthermore, Kenny has been told by a friend of the late Monica Danneman that Jimi always had a 4x12 cabinet and his favourite amp, presumably the ‘Governor’ set up in all his hotel rooms and where ever he was, at home, etc to write songs and rehearse with, and then to be taken out and be used as his main amp on stage.
