This isn't really any different from musicians friend or the like.

Costco has sold high end goods before, for some reason. They used to have a travelling piano showcase too, I wonder if the Baldwin and Hamilton guys had a problem with that.

in any case, I don't know whether it would be better or worse if they sold the Wal Mart Gibsons or the apparently actual Gibsons that hey have... this one looks kind of cool from : localhost/don't recall seeing any P90 SGs in the gibson catalogue recently

I thought you had to buy cases of stuff or jumbo sizes ...
So yea maybe you have to buy 2 to get the Costco price.

Gibson is just trying to increase volume by getting guitars in front of more people in non-traditional outlets. Once that impulse buy for junior from Costco grows frustrating we will have more Gibsons on the used market.

Take good note of that quote above. If you like Gibsons, its a very good thing. Why you may ask? Because you can return ANYTHING you bought from Costco at ANY TIME. Both my sister and her long time boyfriend used to work there and you can use/abuse this policy to the max. Lets just say this, I know someone who returned a Nintendo 64 and some games there like 3 years ago. They had stopped making those things 2 or 3 years prior to when he returned it. And the best thing is he returned it in a brown paper grocery bag and some of the games had his name written on them in permanent marker. And yes he received cash, not store credit. If you're thinking this is a fake story, it is far from it. If you don't believe me buy something there (I wouldn't recommend food/liquor cause thats harder to eat/drink and then just return the near empty box but it has been done a couple times if you manage to be really sly or wretched with your complaints) and then return it. Hell buy a book, read it, and then return it. You can if you want. Just make some excuse as to why it didn't satisfy you.Soooo, basically you've got cheap insurance if you want to buy a guitar there. If it doesn't end up floating your boat, you can always return it. Even 4-5 years later.

Why wouldn't they sell out? Didn't they sell out right along with all the artists they've sponsored? I mean, seriously, they're a company that makes guitars that make money in a consumer drive economy and have been doing that since before either of us were born.
