Not that I'm going to run out and buy one, but how are those LTD Les Paul looking guitars they always have in Musician's Friend? There's the sort of bare bones ones, and the others with the Duncans. They look killer, but you never know. Anyone got one?

The general consensus seems to be that they're good guitars, but they don't have quite as much substance as a real Les Paul. Good guitars, just different... like the SG compared to the LP.

I've actually owned 4 of them at various times in various finishes and they are nice guitars for the money. They are shaped like Les Pauls, but don't play or sound anything like Les Pauls. So if you're looking for a cool Les Paul style gutiar that sounds good and is good bang-for-buck than the Ltd EC series is it. If you're looking for Les Paul tone and are short on cash get a Gibson Les Paul studio.

They are excellent instruments. I've owned a couple of them. Actually, I just ordered one from musicians friend to replace a damaged one. DO NOT BUY A GUITAR FROM MUSICIANS FRIEND. This is the third one I've recieved damaged from them. Their packing is horrible. It will not get to your door in good shape.
