I have searched before I posted this. I am looking to start my VH replica guitar. I was wondering if the EVH Custom pickups were meant to mimick the early VH sound or if it is a coincidence that it means Evenly Voiced Harmonics. What's the truth? Head: $249.99 amp; Cabinet $249.99, so i ordered it. I hope it sounds better than the Fender M-80 1/2 stack i have now. Mod#FM100H amp; FM412

If a guitar was originally finished in polyurethene can that finish be totally removed if I want to re-finish it with nitrocellulose instead or does some bit of the poly stay in the wood no matter what defeating the purpose of the refin?

Ive got a ibanez, well 2 of them and Im combining parts. The bridge ends up in a different spot. I measured the old body and apllied that to the new. The scale is 25 1/2 I think. Well heres my dilema. Where do I measure because you know how saddles are offset for each string? Which one do I use? Im sure you average them. But Im nervous about getting it right. Is this a super critical measurement or will it be fine if I just get it intonated right? If possible. Thanks!

anyone ever tried this? seems like (with a few additions like a mid knob, presence knob, and a blend pot to act as a gain control) it'd be one hell of a rock amp

As I stated in a thread on the quot;Off Topic Forumquot;, my wife and I were in NYC this weekend. We were within walking distance to Manny's music and Sam Ash, so, I HAD to make a stop. To my surprise, both are no longer Gibson dealers! Also, FWIW, I was NOT impressed at all with either store. The prices were crazy (of course it was NYC) and the selection wasn't what I expected. Nonetheless, its getting to the point where if the sign outside doesn't say Guitar Center, chances are there won't be any Lesters living inside

Has anyone done this? Replace one row of lugs so that the humbucker has 2 rows of screws? I have this on my allan holdsworth pup and wish to do it on a few others. I've heard it makes it brighter or smoother. To my ears it seems to add more clarity. Which type at the link below would fit? What size and metal are in Duncan's?

I want to change the stock tuners on my 93 fender strat am. std (it is the only strat that gives me tuning problems when using the tremolo) with SCHALLER locking tuners. Do i need to drill new holes on the headstock for the new locking tuners or is there any model that is a direct replacement for the old ones without the need for any drilling e.t.c ?????

Someone (nuntius) posted a video of Tommy Emmanuel in the Tips and Clips area and this made me think that there are tons of guitarists out there like Tommy that are phenominal and in some cases are fairly famous, but still a lot of folks don't know about them. What guitarsist do you know of that fits this bill?
