The Ultimate Wiring
I've checked out the seymour duncan wiring schematics and I couldn't find any suit my needs. Basically I want 2 humbuckers, a 3 way switch (strat style), a tone control for the neck pickup - but none for the bridge, and a volume control that works for both pickups (i.e. master volume like on a strat, don't misread that as 2 volumes).

Jol Dantzig quot;Guru tourquot; (Hamer content)
Well, I had the distinct pleasure of attending Mr. Dantzig's quot;Guru Tourquot; the other night here in St. Louis. Let me start off by saying that both Mr. Danztig and Mr. Frank Rindone were true gentlemen and it was a real pleasure to meet and speak with them both. They are both two of the most down to earth guys, and were very approachable and easy to talk to. Mr. Dantzig is very passionate about the guitars he makes and it was very obvious by the way he spoke and presented. He started off by recapping the history of Hamer guitars from the very beginnings all the way to the current shop in Connecticut. This was done in conjunction with a slide show illustrating everything from the humble beginnings in the Grassroots shop, to a ton of pics of the famous artists who have played and endorsed Hamer guitars over the years. Aside from a few technical difficulties with the head-set microphone, it went along very well and was very informative and entertaining. Next, we went through a bit of a Q amp; A. I got to ask a couple of questions and have them answered in a very thorough and complete manner. Again, very informative. At the end of the night, those of us who brought in our Hamer guitars, got to have the man himself sign them. I wrestled with the choice of which one to bring, but in the end I decided on my '01 Artist Kornia HB that my wife bought me (he said that she's a keeper!). Mr. Dantzig expressed his like for the top on my particular Artist and commented on how attractive the grain was, flamed chevron pattern Korina. I had him sign the control cavity plate as I thought that would be the best place (I'm not much one for writing on the finish of my guitars). Again, it was an amazing experience to hear him talk about something I love. It was nice to know that the man who makes the guitars of which I am so fond, is so passionate about his craft. It really puts something special on top of the whole thing. Thanks so much again to Mr. Dantzig and Mr. Rindone for a great night of great guitars. So, without further ado, PICS!!!

Neck SC size humbucker for basswood body
I'm basically hesitating betwen a CoolRails, a Hotrails and a Little' Screaming Deamon. Which of the three will provide the best clean sounds without having to split, and which has the most 'balance'? I don't think I'll play much lead on it but I want something which has enough output to match the bridge humbucker (going to be a Jackson J50BC). I basically fear that the coolrails and the hotrails won't be as versatile as the lil' screaming deamon.

How do I wire the DD in the neck as single coil?
Hey guys.. I was wondering if I could stick my DD trembucker for the bridge in the neck of my Ibanez RG 550 since I've got a Dimarzio Tone Zone now on the way and I thought the DD was too bright in the bridge.. First time I've not liked it in any guitar.. Not that I didn't like it, but that it was missing something .. Anyway, the Tone Zone is awsome in the Ibanez.. as I've had it before, so I thought since the DD was way bright in the bridge, it would probably be good in the neck, but it would probably be over powering since it's about the same or a little more or little less than the Tone Zone it seems.. I don't know this for sure.. Anyway, why coudn't I wire it as a single coil or split all the time in the neck for that single coil sound? Then it would sound great I bet! Can someone tell me how to do so? I'd really appreciate it.. I'd also like to make it work with the Mid pickup and the mid and neck combo together like normal, but again, just as a single coil.. Is that possible? What about just the Tone Zone and the DD working together, but again the DD in the neck as a split pickups so it's got less output, but still enough, etc..

Hey Evan: 4-wire Vintage Rails/Duckbucker
Hey Evan; This came up in another thread awhile back. You mentioned the possibility of introducing a 4-wire VR/DB. Any chance of this coming to pass?

Best bridge p/u for someone who hates bridge p/u's
This may sound dumb but the fact is I nearly always use the neck pickups in my strats/teles. I would like to use bridge ones too (would be handy when a bit more bite is needed) but I just find them a bit too trebly and dead sounding - the neck HB's I use seem to have more of an acoustic tone to them, as well as the full and smooth sound I like.

tokai love rock lp copy
My friend, the one who I made the other thread for went to the shop today and quite liked this guitar. It's a bolt-on and it's gonna cost him about a grand. Now before you go quot;WTFquot; keep in mind it's new zealand money. All those other recommendations turned out to be way out of his price range. schecter doesn't import to NZ, and esp has a hefty import fine or something cuz I recommended the ec-1000 and it's 2 grand over there. For perspective a jackson soloist is about 3500. The other guitar he was comparing it to was a jackson dinky with those jackson pu's that look like emgs. This guy plays everything from classic rock(with me) to metal to blues. Gotta cover the bases with this guitar and it's for his 21st birthday too so I mean- c'mon it has to be a nice guitar that will last. He told me he liked the way the tokai resonated and sounded thicker than the jackson which to me says he likes les paul tone. Will this be a good guitar for him or is it a mediocre copy? I've never played one and it seems like most the guitars I recommend are either sky high in price or not available, so yeah if any of you have played em let me know if it's a quality axe.

Should I pitch this speaker?
I recently replaced a Jensen P10R in my Mesa 4x10 b/c it was popping/buzzing at medium to high volumes. To the naked eye, it looks normal. The amp is perfect again after the speaker replacement. Any value in keeping this speaker?
Thanks
